I have to change the battery in my 2011 Road King and was wondering if I need to do anything with the alarm or do I just disconnect the old and in with the new?
Cheers..

2008 model of mine alarm will go off if you do that. There is a way around it. Like pull out main fuse after doing something first?
Not very helpful but I have only changed that battery once! and it was still working when I changed it.
Nice to see you back too Sparra.

Have your fob handy and turn the ignition on.
Then pull the main fuse or disconnect the battery.

Yes, that sounds correct. I think you have only a certain amount of time to do it though before that alarm starts up.
Or just take out your hearing aids, put on some earmuffs and change it anyway.

Thanks for the reply's...Hopefully it won't go off as I'm not as fast these days at doing shit...

Oh! I am pretty fast doing shit these days. Just gotta get to the right place to do it in time. Specially after lots of beer.
2011 Road king eh? You have done well for the battery to last so long.

Only had it a couple of years mate...Sold the Wide glide for new house build and bought this as soon as it was finished...Hardly ridden it though, I had a double knee replacement not long after I bought it, then we have had a few lockdowns...I was thinking of selling it but just can't seem to do it...

Good to see you are still kicking Sparra, on mine the procedure is, turn the ignition on but don't start it, turn ignition off and before it arms the alarm pull the main fuse, you have a couple of seconds, nice bike you have there mate.
Cheers

Thanks Hilly...Love the Road King but maybe at my age should have bought something a little lighter, it's great once you get going but getting it around the garage or really slow riding it's a bit of a handful for me...

Mine I switch on,pull main fuse. Change battery, turn ignition off, replace fuse. Find owners manual and reset clock, which I still have to do.
