I rescued a model B at Oley in April.  Its got a 26 motor and 32-34 single frame.  I'm looking for the lower fork bearing cone, part # 2455-26. All my contacts tell me that you guys in Australia have all the parts.

    Hi Georgeo
Where abouts(in this little planet lol) do you live?
Are you after a genuine one or reproduction part?

I live in Fairfax, VA in the US.  The Model B was at the April AMCA meet in Oley, PA.  I'd like to have an original bearing cone, but a good repro would be OK.  This lower cone is beat up with bearing dents all around.  Here's a photo of what the bike looked like.  Its stripped down to frame.  Front and rear bearings are OK and I want to put the fork back on it so I have a roller chassis while motor case is being repaired.

    Hi georgeo,
I've just sent(in your inbox) where you will find high quality reproduction parts you are looking for. Those parts are obviously very hard to get as genuine ones. I haven't seen many Model B here in Australia. I believe the market back then for this particular model was Europe and also Japan to compete with smaller engine sized motorcycle manufacturers competitors. Here's a picture of a 350cc 1926 peashooter Boardtrack racer (The racing OHV version) extremely rare and less than 200 produced over 5 Years. This one is at the Nabiac National motorcycle museum here in Australia.
Let us know how you go with you parts, and if you need any more help..

georgeo, welcome to the forum. Nice bike. No offence meant but your serial number suggests a 27 model motor, not 26. For 26 model singles (A, AA, B, BA), serial numbers began at 1000 and apparently ran into the 8000s. For 1927 models serial numbers started at 9000.

    Hi Eric,
This is not the engine serial numbers that georgeo gave ,it's the OEM part reference number. However I think he may have mistaken a digit.I believe the Part reference number georgeo is after is not OEM part ref# 2455-26 but OEM part ref #2755-26..to be confirmed with georgeo...

Cheers mate. But I was referring to the engine serial number that is visible on the left crankcase in one of the photos. It looks like B15400.

You are correct.  The lower bearing cone is 2755-26.  And it is a 26 model.  The SN is B 2278.  After I read your forum discussions from about 5-6 years ago, I called Herbert Wagner and he verified that it is a 26.  Those two photos you a referring to are not mine.  I thought I sent five or six photos -- all showing my bike in its untouched condition -- definitely unrestored.

Cool!If you want to share with us the finished restoration project I'm sure it will be appreciated and my apologies Eric I though you were referring to the part number.

georgeo, I figured that bike was yours based on your comment: ‘Here's a photo of what the bike looked like.’

Thanks for clarifying yours is a 26.

Herb Wagner is very good with H-D info and I had no hesitation believing what he said about SNs for 26–27 singles in one of his books.
