Reports coming out now the Northern Alliance attacked and killed 330 Taliban yesterday in an offensive in the Panjshir. You would imagine that this will be the start of a wider campaign. No rest for the wicked.

I’d not heard of this mob HD.

    Makes interesting reading.
Also makes me wonder why our media aren’t reporting it.

The Northern Alliance held Northern Afghanistan and were fighting the Taliban for years before we went in in 2001. Now lead by the son of the previous commander.

So the USA army left 25 billion.....yes billion dollars worth of equipment for the Afghan army to fight of the Taliban and they simply walked away leaving it all to the Taliban. Now they have black hawk choppers and 200,000 firearms and 20,000 Humvees seized from the Afghan army.

I find it rather impressive that the Taliban can fly these black-hawk choppers so effortlessly, while someone films it, looks like they have been doing it for years, begs the question
    How primitive are these groups?

Taliban tells former pilot: Fly this for us or we take your head now. Simple choice.

Shouldn’t last long. High tech helicopters need 10 hrs maintenance (?) for 1 hr flight time.
They’ll either fall out of sky or not take off one day.

Or have we considered this is just more fake news.
Or maybe the videos showing that critical components of the choppers etc have been removed and that some were shot full o holes was fake.
Either way, can’t believe the US didn’t apppy the scorched earth policy.

The problem with Afgani soldiers is that when ever there was a job that was going to be guarenteed to get into a tick they would spruk some religious bs so it was get called off, as there was a UN mandate on Afgani forces ratio to Allied forces.

Sad whats happening after spending 2 years of my life there but at least they dont have covid lockdowns!

Thank You For Your Service Nath103

It will be interesting to watch what happens next. The fighting season is coming to an end the Taliban have just had a final crack at the valley, which saw them (claimed) lose 200 men and a large amount of vehicles and equipment. It will be unlikely they will now try anything substantial against the NA until next spring, given the impenetrable geography of the Panjshir Valley, one way in and out and easily defended. This will allow the NA, or Northern Resistance Front as they are now called to further stockpile weaponry and bolster their forces. They are already claiming large amounts of former Afghan SF who were pissed at the cowards who surrendered so easily and of course, Uncle Sam will undoubtedly provide all the reqd ingredients for a sustained insurgency in order to keep the Chinese and Russians at bay with their plans for Belt and Road BS and gas pipelines etc.

Another point to note is that Ahmad Shah junior is no lightweight. He has a bachelor’s degree in war studies at King’s College London and a masters degree in international politics. He is connected, educated and commands enormous respect from the people of the region. His father kicked Russia's arse for years and he will certainly continue that legacy.

I personally know very little on this subject, but being an old bloke, I personally , have found-- look at the money trail...
    The $$$$  tell a story.
'Bloody hell' is what I'd say to the poor sods hanging in there, get a motorcycle, sidecar and trailer and get the fuck outter there.
