Who here has put a 21” breakout front wheel onto a fatboy? Im in the midst of doing this and centering the wheel has become a big challenge.

id like to know, do we have to replace the bearings? If i mock it up without spacers i see the calliper is about 2-3mm out and looks like it needs shaving.

like to hear of those that have done this.

    Hi 8pence.
You seem to be having a lot of trouble with that poor old bike
a year ago you were asking about a breakout fender on a fatboy with a 21" wheel
Perhaps give us a bit more explanation of what you're trying to achieve and add some photos to attract attention from the members.
I'm sure its been done before. Have you contacted any professionals? What did they recommend? Help us to help you. We do like custom builds and a Wheel is just a wheel. Cheers

I’ve seen a couple of M8 Fatboys with Breakout wheels front and rear, one was on the road road and the other new in a dealership who said it was an easy fit, so I assume no shimming.  Looked bloody great too.
When considering buying an M8 Fatboy from Adelaide Bike Works they said they could fit Breakout wheels no problems (mostly because I hate the side wind affect with solid wheels) so maybe the correct spacers are available off the shelf. Have you asked a dealer?

Thanks. Yes have asked a few, nice to get a ball park off them and id take it in but no custom shop can ball park it. Previously i was sorta scouting with some thoughts but never got a chance or the time but now i have. I reduced the spacer from 28 to 25 but still off by a couple mm. So i mocked up 20mm right and 14mm left gives me 19.6mm from each side inner fork to outside rim to centre the wheel. then the caliper will not squeeze in and is out by about 3mm. Ill get pics later to show.

I just dnt like the solids, never have. Well if this dnt work ill consider fat spokes. Its tax time.
