    Where are you, Hound Dog?

Malaysia mate. Yesterday 21.6K cases. Estimated to be 3x higher. Just to give you guys an insight....a little over a year ago we had 1 daily case ONE. A couple of thousand total cases and were considered a world leader in managing the virus. Long story short, I see the same fuckwits doing to Australia what they did here. Anti Vax, anti mask dont fucking listen. In a year we have put on 1.4 million cases. 140K cases just last week. 2-300 dead a day, ICU beds so far beyond capacity that hospital carparks are being used as wards. Doctors are in some places deciding if you should be left to die if the next person has a better chance of survival....anti imbeciles think about that if it was your loved one. Forgive my rant but I have seen 1st hand what woke morons have caused. I'll sign off by repeating a quote from an ICU nurse recently. "the final words of many people are to beg for the vaccine, I just hold their hands and say sorry, it is too late"

Thanks for sharing insight from Malaysia. It’s frustrating here as people literally have almost everything relative to many other countries. Admittedly we don’t have sufficient Pfizer vaccinations but we have significant advantages to getting thru this more positively than most other countries. I agree that it’s morons who are failing us and to be anti vax at this time is absolutely moronic. I wouldn’t say they’re all right wing folk though. Lots of lefty anti vaxxers and even lots of relativity normal people including people I work with. Science, medicine (and vaccinations) have been saving human life for thousands of years. If it wasn’t for science and medicine many of the anti vaxers wouldn’t even exist

    As you said mate....
“If it wasn’t for science and medicine many of the anti vaxers wouldn’t even exist.”
Spot on and as Hound Dog said re Malaysia....
“There are very few anti vax/mask morons here. Reality tends to thin them out quickly.”
The same will happen here, once we get to an 80% vaccination rate and if the States are then game enough to stop the lockdowns, Delta will run rife through the community, cases and deaths will surge and (theoretically) the vaccinated population will survive and the antivaxers will die off.
    Natural selection at work.

Reminds me of an old story (modified here) where a righteous man dies of Covid.
In heaven he says to God, I’m a righteous man, I do good deeds, I have a loving family, I pray and give thanks to you every day, why did you abandon me in my time of need?
God answered, I sent you clear instructions for isolation, sanitation, masks and even three types of vaccinations. Why are you here ?

Going for my booster (3rd shot) on 22 Aug

Sooooo, I got a call yesterday requesting me to come in to the hospital at 13:30 for my booster……went in as requested, got my “booster” (Pfizer) and got told to be back in 21 days for my second Pfizer shot…….so that means that in 21 days I will have had 2 shots of two different vaccines in less than 8 months…..
I don’t know how I feel to be honest, here I am waiting for my 4th shot and many people around the world did not yet have access even to a first shot of anything…..so let’s be clear, I am not boasting, I am only sharing. Strange world.

So, surely you must have queried them & mentioned your vaccination history? Maybe there was a record keeping administration error!
    What was their response?

Just an FYI mate, a woke moron has no particular political affiliation. They share stupidity as a common denominator.

Agree, this right-wing/left-wing wingding is incredibly simplistic.
This pigeon-holing is just lazy. Why not just focus on the crux of the subject with the relevant opinions that you seem to agree with anyway. Jeez - choose your battles, let it go Chester.

Just to give you guys a further insight of what it is like to live in one of the worlds hardest hit countries. To put things into perspective Malaysia has a population of 32M which isnt to far off Australia (as compared to say, the US). Yesterday there were 20,546 cases, 282 deaths, 101 of which were what is classed as BID...Brought in Dead. People are actually dying in their homes in such numbers that the stat is being tracked daily. There were 198 ICU admissions with a further 57 needing oxygen support. Bearing in mind and as an example, it costs in OZ 30K approx each day to run 1 single ICU bed. Can you fathom the crisis if everyday there were 200 people requiring life support facilities just for virus cases, let alone those requiring treatment for other causes?

I will reiterate, and the reason I feel so strongly about this is I see some Australians behaving exactly the same way as some people did here, just over a year ago we had ONE daily case and I think around 5k in total and a handful of deaths. Yesterday we hit over 1.4 million cases and 12,500+ deaths. In ONE year. I never thought it could happen to us. It fucking did and once this fucking thing gets off the leash its damn hard to get it back on.

Inevitable. Eventually there will be reciprocal arrangements.
Riding a bike freely around the country will require a vaccination passport.
    Got mine (MyGov website).
Unfortunately the anti-vaxers will become the grim statistics of this pandemic.

You are correct mate. Unfortunately it is those anti vax, anti mask window lickers who drag you down the rabbit hole with them.
