Going for my booster (3rd shot) on 22 Aug

Quoting Wideglider on 05 Aug 2021 06:48 AM

3rd shot booster - what's going on there?

We have completed about 77% of the population so far with both jabs. Because Sinopharm was rolled out initially and the prevalence of the delta variant, we are allowed to get a third “booster” shot of Pfizer if we want. We have been experiencing between 1500 and 2000 cases a day since this bullshit virus started, the daily numbers were much higher during the first two “waves” but have settled to about 1500 a day. It’s both alarming and amusing when I read the newspaper stories about what going on in Aus, and it confuses my as to A. Why there are not enough vaccines to go around and B. Why it seems that many Aussies have believed the bullshit about conspiracies etc. GET THE JAB……IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE, or at least give you the chance to endure a dose of COVID if you are unlucky enough to catch it.

I use a double mask policy paper and cloth and so far it has kept me safe. I also get tested weekly.

You cannot travel interstate if your PCR test is older than 48 hours, and you cannot enter a government building for the same rule.

You cannot enter a construction site without enduring 10 days of quarantine and you cannot return to work after vacation with out presenting a negative PCR test that less than 48 hours old.

I have construction teams at multiple sites that have been hit by COVID disruptions and I can tell you it’s not making life easy here. But we look forward to a “normal” future……whatever that might be.

I thought getting the jab should be an easy procedure. Should have known better. I had a day off work today and tried  to organise it . Phoned  the quack and got told I would be lucky if it happens this month. She took my details and told me I was now on the  list and I will be contacted sometime in the next couple of weeks.
    Typical government clusterfuck.

UAE.  Government here has been really good.  24 hr drive thru testing and vaccine centres. If you not lucky, you might wait 20 mins to get tested or vaccinated, we have online bookings which give you a 30 min window to get there.  During both previous waves they set up army style field hospitals, they have very high quality quarantine centres for residents that get COVID here and cannot isolate, but we still getting 1500 a day minimum…..expecting to see a spike in next few weeks as borders with India just opened so that UAE residents can return, so hoping we will be safe!

Where is your son located? He is exposing himself and his family to unnecessary risk! I have had 3 workers, last year Feb, in ICU, one passed, the other 2 barely made it, and one of the two can’t work anymore! Encourage him to get the vaccine! Good luck and be careful please, this virus is a killer.

Well had my 2nd jab of AZ last Thursday, feeling more secure now.
Was painless and no headache or fever.
The only side effect worth mentioning is that I have now developed FAS (Foreign Accent Syndrome) with a distinct Cantonese accent - I'm told it will pass.

You'll be fine mate and even have your first layer of protection with having the jab. Our lock-down on Sunny Coast has been lifted. Hope it all done by October up there as i am headed to Bedarra Island again.

Ive been fully vaxxed with Pfizer for over 3 months now. Zero side effects. The country I live in is currently one of the worst red zones in the world. We have more daily deaths than OZ has cases. As an example my QR tracker the other day had 77 + cases within a kilometer from my house. There are very, very few anti vax/anti mask morons here. Reality tends to thin them out quickly.
