I am in my 70's so lined up for AZ back in early March and had 2nd jab in June. No aftereffects with either dose. Son & daughter both booked for 1st jab this month. We are all in Delta Covid Central - Sydney!!!

Quoting Ratbob on 03 Aug 2021 08:41 AM

Yep. Same as Sturgis, the missus and I had second jab in June.

I simply cannot understand the hesitation. It’s probably because our case and death numbers are so low. Get a few hundred deaths per day and watch em line up.
Mind you, if the antivaccers don’t line up, doesn’t matter, they’ll soon die off after a year or two 😎.

But just think of the "Likes" on intagram while they are in hospital being surgically removed from their phones

Queensland Health has confirmed a new case of COVID-19 has been detected in a person in Far North Queensland.

The health department said the infected person lives in the Cairns region and that contact tracing had started in Cairns, Trinity Beach and Yorkeys Knob areas.

It is not yet known what strain of the virus the person has or how it was contracted.

Queensland Health said an investigation is underway into whether the case is currently active or historical.

Member for Barron River Craig Crawford said the person was fully vaccinated and had returned to Cairn's Northern Beaches from Brisbane.

I've had first AZ, get second AZ in a few weeks, I did not experience any side effects or pain.

I knew someone who was on The Ruby Princess, he got it, but his wife didn't. it almost killed him & after all he had to go through to recover from it, he had to learn to talk again & other problems.
I'm not worried personally. But I would not like to effect others, so I got it more for everyone else more than myself.

I am not sure that is how it works Krash.  If you get vaccinated I dont think it would stop you from infecting other people.
My understanding of the vaccine is it just lessens the chances of the individual getting really sick when he does get infected.
If you dont get the vaccine and you happen to get the virus you have a  slight chance of dying. If you do get vaccinated and get the virus you have fuck all chance of dying.  I think that is how it works.

Yes B.B., that is how it works.
After full vaccination, you can still catch and spread covid but with far less illness to yourself and others who are vaccinated.
There should be plenty of room in intensive care for the antivaxers, if they make it.

also apparently once you are fully vaccinated you are also less infectious, which means you are a little less likely to spread the virus as much as a non vaccinated person, Just something interesting is the fact that doctors in England are now saying the Pfizer is more effective if you wait 12 weeks until you get your second jab. In NZ they are rushing us to get the second jab within 2 to 3 weeks, I might leave my second jab a bit longer myself, I don't know much about the Az vaccine as it is not available in NZ
