Hey Wideglider , go get a replacement as 12 month  or they replace after they test.   But the do crank harder as the genuine HD( not made by Harley just has there name) has 370cca & could not turn over my little 88” sporty sounded like battery was having a hernia! So out. With genuine & in with SSB hit the button & it spun motor over easy ( for a few months then got a bit weaker ) .

I don't get 5 years from HD batteries, used to, my first one went 7 years before it through the towel in without ever seeing a charger, road bike most days, all the ones I've had since have seen at least partial tender top ups but 1.5 - 2 years seems to be it, must be doing something wrong?

I feel that the Yuasa batteries are the best but expensive. My Honda VFR 2008 model came with one and I only replaced it last year because I was heading to Phillip Island, and thought this thing cant last forever, (12 years). My Suzuki DR has an SSB and that thing has been flogged, its now 8 years old been flat a couple of times and it still starts the DR with a hi comp piston. My Harley battery is on a HD charger and its original and 5 years old, starts the bike easily, the other are just $25.00 trickle chargers from Jaycar. I occasionally take them out of the bike and hook them up to my Projecta battery charger and put them through a rejuvenation cycle. I figure for the inconvenience its saves me a bit of money in the long run and its really annoying putting all the gear on and hitting the button and nothing happening.

Found my receipt (mentions 12 months warranty), the Indy shop also had engraved the top of the battery with the purchase date.

Warranty is warranty after all, they will probably try and give you another battery though, take them the good fight, hope it goes in your favour.

I don't know about the different places that sell the SSB new, but the Factory in Sydney will always replace a bad one that's less than a year old.
