Does the regulator/filter assy need to be completely removed from tank to replace fuel filter on 14 breakout. Manual is vague re filter replacement.

So you couldn't just remove the top plate from the reg assy which is held in place on top plate with spring clamp. Leave lines connected and then remove clip holding filter housing to reg and replace filter. 

When I upgraded to CVO tank console I had to swap out top plate so I disconnected wires and vent line then unclipped reg assy from plate then just clipped reg back onto new top plate. Just can't recall if you can remove filter housing with reg in situ once plate removed.

Any special tools required to release fuel lines from regulator assy.
