    Hey everyone,

I ordered some heated grips for my 2020 FXLR - can anyone help with a good independent mechanic who can install them. I called a couple & they were suggesting hot grips & I had to tell them that the softails have fly by wire & the hot grips are not compatible with them. HH wants $580 for the install.

Looking for recommendations in Melbourne area.

    TIA

Have you tried downloading the instructions and doing it yourself?  Might not be as hard as you think.

    Good call DocGreen.
Mrs bought heated grips for her Triumph bobber. They were surprisingly easy to install via the online directions.
There were wires there already, waiting to accept the grips.

Yeah I did & looked at a few videos too…

Seems like you’ve got to remove the gas tank and rewire through the handlebars. Seemed a bit too complicated for my mechanical skills. 😁

Well then, I guess the best you can do is to contact a few different folk who can do it and go for the best quote you can get.
There would be an independent bloke somewhere near you who could do it, it is not always easy finding them though.
By the way, I really like heated grips too.
