    Welcome to the forum Will.
Is your bike slipping or hopping?  Both terms are a little bit confusing.
I"ve had a few bikes over the years but never had one that hopped . You dont know a bloke called speedy by any chance?

Hey beagle, it's good to see you online. Are you just taking a break at the moment from writing your latest book how to make friends on internet forums?

Bb is actually a nice fellow when you get to know him.  Can initially come over as offensive, brash and ignorant but it’s just a front. Like a fine wine, he matures with age.

Sorry bout that. Had a troll who used to come on as new member all the time without intro and ask hard to decipher questions. Members would try and help but end up chasing their tails

You dont have to be Albert fukin Einstein to figure out what happened there.
speedy tried another comeback and failed miserably again.  If the now invisible OP was fair dinkum he would not have deleted anything.
I have no idea what he gets out of it but he has been doing it for a few years now.
I have to  admit in my exuberance to identify the cunt I might have abused a few genuine posters. I apologize for that.

I think if you're going to sign up for a Harley Davidson forum you can't afford to be too precious or easily offended. There are many colourful characters from all walks of life that own them.

Hey steelo, I've thought about this a bit lately and this thread confirms it, I'll say it here for disclosure.

Can yourself or whoever owns/mods and/or looks after this forum please have a look at removing the option to delete posts. It's fucking ridiculous and annoying to have threads like this (and numerous others) which although it went off track a bit anyway have absolutely no meaning or continuity because of deleted posts.

There are posts that get quoted and/or replied to then an hour later or the next day they're gone and the others that get left have no context or relevance. And to those who post shit and then delete it, think long and hard before you do post and then maybe don't, but if you do, fucking own it.

We're predominantly men here aren't we? If you put something up pissed, angry or for a shit stir and then have a change of heart, acknowledge it and post an apology for being a dick, drunk, stupid or whatever the case might be but please don't keep fucking up threads by deleting posts.

Thanks JD. Interesting question. Certainly been raised before by members to me and forwarded to the site owner
Under the Terms of use (at the bottom of every site page)
"By posting content on the site, registered users implicitly permit HD Forums Australia to publish their content. Where a user owns the content they post, that user retains ownership and control of that content. The site enables users to remove part or all of the content they post from the site."
I personally believe that nothing posted here is that sacrosanct it must be preserved for eternity. We should retain the right to delete or correct comments that have caused offense or we may later regret making.
Happy to take a PM or call from any member to discuss further.

Yeah, sure - most forums have those similar rules/rights.
But, come on, it really is frustrating trying to make sense of a thread that's been butchered & become unreadable nonsense.
Obviously is is noticeable that there is one particular member who is very opinionated, but then deletes his posts on a daily basis - actually quite a bizarre behaviour! Perhaps unintentional, but nevertheless a selfish pursuit & of course misses the very essence of a the communication & free flowing banter that supposedly he was looking for when joining the social group.
I enjoy the forum, reading & occasionally contributing but it has come to the point that I actually avoid those threads where the particular member has posted - because the thread is all over the place like a dog's breakfast.

I agree, the member replied to my post about deleting posts earlier today, edited it and then when I looked again this evening it was gone? I learned under the old forum configuration and previous username not to quote their posts after being left with Quote source removed a couple of times.

I usually don't bother responding to their posts either (they probably won't care) which is a shame because they post some funny and also intelligent comments/opinions only to pull them and make you look stupid replying to something that's no longer there and screwing up the discussion. Sure it's a free world (except for Covid restrictions) and the forum/rules allow it, but I really don't see the point.
