What's the best place to go to for a final rest stop for elderly men?

I want to get out of Perth to somewhere lonely, i need to haul my bike and some belongings with me. I prefer somewhere not too cold and not too hot.

Been thinking about Sydney or Brisbane, how would i haul my bike and a few boxes with me? I don't have any other transport.

If looking for someplace lonely, wouldn't be choosing Brisbane or Sydney. Am looking at moving out of Brisbane and heading someplace north as the place has become to crowded for my liking. The traffic around here is starting to drive me bat shit crazy with the amount of drivers that have no clue on how to drive.

    Therein lies the problem.
The traffic has already past peak capacity in all the capital cities ages ago. Even here in Hobart it is just fucked nearly all day long and peak hour will turn you into a real bad version of yourself.
At least we can escape onto nice bike riding roads relatively quickly, in the warmer times. But in the colder months they can be punishing.
I have a friend who has moved from Sydney to 15 minutes drive inland from Noosa heads.  A house on maybe 2 acres. He reckons it's great, not TOO hot in the summer as they still get an afternoon nor easter and in the winter it is perfect..low 20's C. Lots of good riding options etc. But not cheap to buy there. Guess it depends on your budget. You know, I'd love a house on a few acres with big sheds with 3 phase power, walking distance to the beach at Byron Bay. Can't see that happening though.

Anywhere between  Newcastle and the Gold Coast should suit your requirements. If you keep to the Eastern side of the mountains the weather wont be too hot or too cold. It will be perfect.  I will be doing exactly that in about 4 years  hopefully.  I havent made my mind up yet either but probably around Coffs Harbour give or take a few hundred klicks.

we moved up from Sydney 10 years ago to WayWay which is 40 mins south of Coffs
5 acres that backs on to river for fishing 3 klms to a few beaches, couple of steers, chickens, old tractor, ride on mower, dirt bikes (satifies the need to tinker).
Pool for summer and wood fire for winter.
Traffic is great if you keep off the freeway, plenty of country road rides and up and down the coast road for seaside villages for pubs and grubs.
    Wouldn't be anywhere else.
Only issue I have found is I will never be able to handle Sydney life ever again.
    Oh well.

Looking back at the original question. I guess, "The crematorium" is a good choice. But then you need someone to scatter your ashes where you fancy.
Living close to big wilderness here, it is obvious a few old guys go wandering into the never never when they think they are fucked.
I sort of like that option but am really referring to "FINAL" resting place. Not temporary final resting place.

East coast is expensive to both rent and buy.
Crunch the numbers carefully, a lot of renters are really struggling now.

Just to make things worse me and the wife both work from home for Sydney based companies for the hole time we have been here.
Bought in at 630k in 2011, last month got valued at 1.25-1.40.

Neale, I remember Richmond when the steam trains would load up gravel where Fire & Rescue is now based and protesters would complain about American Star Lifters landing at the RAAF Base during the Vietnam War. No traffic lights in the Hawkesbury.

5 years till I early retirement and the area is turning to shit. The trouble is the South Coast is getting built out, so is the North Coast. Might have to throw the swag onto the Ultra and find a gum tree out west way past Bathurst. Let's not start about ridiculous house prices.

Mate, I’d like to go south, and by south I mean past the borderline and down between Cann River to Bairnsdale.
    Here’s hoping.
