Dark smoke or tint

Have decided to go with Klock werks 6.5 inch Flare screen after a lot of investigation/reading etc on different screens.  Only thing I cant decide on is dark tint, which Klock werks say is about the same tint as OEM screen tint, or the lighter "tint" as they call it.  Don't want clear!  Cant seem to find a decent pic of the two tints and no none in Vic actually carries these screens to compare them.
After opinions from those that may have seen both. ??

I personally would go tinted  as this way if ever  needed to in torential rain or locust plague,  can duck down a bit and still see through easy enough.

At the end of the day, if you get a clear one, and don’t like it, auto pro for some tint

    All a question of size???

Good suggestion in theory to do the tinting, direct UV light on the tint side causes the tint to deteriorate quickly, the screen is then rendered useless, other than protection from the wind, bubbles and cracks will appear.
Show bikes only this works, where they are protected from the day to day exposure.
Binnsy, you would have worked out whats wrong with the clear no doubt ?

I did read not to tint the klockwerks screens as it damages them.
The clear that I got from you Keith was pretty good. Only problem was it was a bit high. I found myself looking through it which distorted my vision. If I wasn't such a short arse it would have been fine. I didn't mind the look on the bike,  although tint would suit it better considering the bike is blacked out.

Soft binnsy. Do you have an air hawk you could use for a while to lift you up a bit to get used to screen. They are an acquired taste.

Silly old fool. Yes I do actually but pointless exercise. Screen is too high simple as that. Obviously the kooshy lounge seat in your retirement sized ultra is a bit higher  than the one on the black beast.
Looking through the curve in the screen is dangerous IMO. No acquiring a taste for that 🤔

The distorted vision is why it found its way to the recyclers by me.
Check the Memphis Shades site before taking the next move.Cheers.

Did have a look at Memphis shades. Wasn't over fussed on the style. I do like the down force the klockwerks screens assist with over the front end,   or at least claim to assist with. Haven't read a bad word on them yet.
Think 6.5 will be my choice.

    So a little update,
Went with Klockwerks 6.5 inch flare windshield in dark smoke. Klockwerks say the dark smoke is very close to original SG screen colour, and they are pretty close..
I like the look on the bike and the top of the screen sits right about my top lip, which is what they recommend.  Im about 5, 10 in the old language.   I can see over it quite well and have gained about 50mm on the original screen that was on the bike, which was a HD screen but not the factory fitted one I don't believe.  Tossed up between the 8.5 and the 6.5 for quite a while, but happy with my choice.  Reckon the 8.5 would have been too high.
Hopefully will road test it soon, I will update when I can.

So finally got out for a squirt on the scooter today, and a chance to test out the Klockwerks  6.5 inch screen on the SGS.
I was having fairly major issues with the standard SG screen and a couple of others I tried as well regards head buffeting.
Bit the bullet and purchased the Klockwerks screen after reading good reports.  Gotta say they work very well.
I found that probably 95% of the buffeting is now gone.  I put my hand above the screen at about 120 Ks and could feel the turbulence was going well and truly above my head.  Also tried out to the side and was being pushed well clear of me.  Sort of put me in a little bubble.  Still had a tiny bit of buffeting depending on wind direction, but to be honest I reckon it might be the helmet contributing.  (Shoei GT2 air) I have heard others say the same with this helmet.  Will try it with other helmets I have another time.
All in all this screen made a big difference and the 6.5 is bang on the right height for me.
    Happy purchaser....
