G'day
Ive got a 2010 Fat Bob with on of the early SE stage 4 kits on it
Screamin’ Eagle® Performance 110+ Heads - 2.120" diameter intake valves (has ACR)
high-compression forged aluminum 10.5:1 pistons matched to the 110+ heads
103 kit
SE260 cam
Perfect-Fit Pushrods
58mm EFI throttle body
high flow injectors
3-7/8" diameter highlighted cylinders
Super Tuner
SD Heavy Breather A/I
V&H big radius pipes
Im told it made 109HP & 100 torque
I see the later stage 4 kits have the 259E cams & different heads
Are the 259E cams a better fit?
Ive got a Supertrapp big shot 2 into 1 pipe Im going to fit & get the bike dyno tuned
The SE260 cam has a fairly high duration number & from what Ive learned in the HiPo car game sometimes less cam is more
Any suggestions on a cam that would be a better fit?
Power & especially torque numbers seem to be a little down from what Ive read
Cheers

Depends on what you want but at 10.5 the s&s 585 is consistently strong.

Leave the combo as it is and piss off the big radius..You will get a pleasant surprise after tuning with a decent pipe on it.
I am not a fan of "Perfect fit" pushrods either, setting adjustable's at their correct setting works every time. We have seen fixed length pushrods ride in the past.

I agree the exhaust plays a big role. What would you suggest Mark? Does it have to be a 2 -1 or are there some decent 2- 2 pipes out there?
Thanks

My personal preference is two into two staggered duals as was fitted stock for years, a set of S&S taper turbo mufflers will give excellent tune-ability and performance. Slash cuts sound blatty to me, also any exhaust that sounds harsh or just plain ear bleeding loud, but that's just me, some guys like that stuff.
Thing is these days there are a whole lot more two into ones on the market than any decent dual exhaust, if you can find something that appeals go for it but do use a recognized brand name with proven dyno results in the same category engine that you are using.
There are a number of systems that come under the dual exhaust heading, one is big radius the other is short or long shots, all these pipes will work against you when your bike hits the dyno, they are for looks not horsepower. Another thing, a set of big radius on a stock engine can work ok as there is little timing overlap in the cams, the higher you go in comp the more cam overlap will be used to optimize the engines output, these pipes will now work against an optimal figure. We have seen decent Twin Cams put out somewhere around 100-105hp and be quite harsh with these pipes, install a decent exhaust and the figure goes to 115-120hp and perform across the range as well.
