So the new Street Glide Special stage 4, came with the orange Screamn Eagle Super Tuner Pro. minus lead sadly but anyway.  On the inside of the box it tells me to go to www.h-d.com to download software.  Tried but tells me the site cant be reached.  There is a code on the rear of the tuner, np doubt the original code for this tuner.  I understand the tuner is married to the bike and this one should be married to mine.  I don't know a whole lot about these jiggers but would imagine if I could download the software the original mapping would be there somewhere and also options for flashing other tunes to the bike.  Not that I probably will as I would like a dyno done. Having said that I imagine we need access to this tuner to be able to do that??  Any help appreciated.
I also have a Dynojet Power Vision sitting in the garage that was married to the fatboy I just sold.  I understand I can get another licence to unlock this one as well. Is either better than the other ??
Just need one to work at this stage !!

If your bike has had a stage 4 kit put in it then it should have been dynoed using that orange box after the kit was installed. If it had been dynoed and nothing else has been changed since (engine, exhaust etc) then it should be fine as it is.

Thanks  I didn't know that. Seems to run fine although a little hot. Cheers

Binnsy, did the person you bought the bike from say that it had been dynoed after the stage 4 installation?.
If it had been, there should have been some sort of dyno graph printout on a bit of paper showing stuff like horsepower and torque with curvy lines.

Purchased from a fairly reputable dealer mate. They didn't seen to know much. The work was done by HD in Dandenong I believe. I might get in contact with them. Maybe they can help me.

A "reputable" dealer installed my stage 4 kit and it ran like shit. I took it back and they said they said they re-dynoed it, and it still ran like shit. Plus there was no dyno print out sheet. I had the wool pulled over my eyes. Did not know better at the time. I have no doubt they installed the kit as I got back the cylinders, pistons, heads, and air intake that was taken off. Just reckon they bullshitted about the dyno tune.
A local indy shop did dyno it afterwards and let me watch how they did it and explained what they were doing, it took several hours and afterwards the bike kicked fucken arse!, plus I got the dyno sheet explaining horsepower and torque which is what I should have got from reputable dealer in the first place.
A dyno tune will cost you over 500 bucks but if your bike is not running properly it is worth every cent, especially if someone has spent all those thousands on a stage 4 upgrade.

Yes, I would be contacting them. You may be better turning up in person as it would be harder for them to fob you off (as opposed to phone call). If you have the vin number they should be able to look through their computer and find out exactly what was done regarding the tune.

So further on from my original post. I spoke to a local bike shop today. Not many to choose from in Geelong,  re dyno tuning my bike. This dealer uses power vision units to do the tunes and doesn't use the super tuner screamn eagle that I have.  I do have a PV that they could use but would need to buy a licence to use  on this bike as its married to the fatty I sold. They offered to use thier tuner and charge me the licence fee on top of the tune $300 I'm told. Can't see the need I'll just re licence mine if I did that. Question is can the super tuner still be used to dyno the bike as I believe HD recalled all the US ones and there may be a software issue for use in aus. Would be cheaper obviously if I could use this screamn eagle tuner.
Looking for answers and opinions. Sorry don't know much about them but would like the bike dyno tuned to have it running at its best. They quoted me up to $1400 including licence and if they needed to install wide band sensors? Sounds exy !!

Hi Binnsy. Thanks for the update. What is telling you there is an issue with the bike atm? High fuel usage, smoke, backfiring, heat (you've said)
To me, it seems incredible that the original owner going to the trouble of a stage 4 would not go the extra mile to get the dyno tune. AND, if not, would not have an appropriately suitable canned tune downloaded to the bike (unless I missed all that info)
If you can ride the bike, it may be that you get your ass over sometime to Neville Lush down south of SA while on a visit. Perhaps PM him. Else, see another tuner who does deal with the HD tuner.
I guess what I'm trying to say is don't be too eager.

Edit: Additional. While it is still married to the FB and can't "tune" your new bike, can you use the PV to display current running parameters.

Hi steelo. Bike is running fairly well. Strangely haven't noticed that heat issue since first ride. Probably has got a canned tune but I'm very fussy with my engines and would like a decent tune. Does backfire a bit on decel which I reckon sounds cool anyway but believe it's not ideal. I imagine with the PV married to the FB it would be useless on the. Street glide  not sure. Might hook it up and see what happens. Can ride the bike no worries at all as I said I'm just fussy. Does use a decent amount of fuel though. Not that,  that concerns me. They're still making it. Would like to know if the super tuner is still usable or just an expensive boat anchor now though.

If the Orange tuner is married to the bike it can be used on the dyno. That’s what my widey was dyno’d with.

Yeah it is. Just need to find someone local that will do it with that tuner. Geelong area. My only option may be the local dealer. Thanks.

Regarding the Orange SE Super pro tuner, (last part no 32109-08C), this is my take on the current situation on using this tuner after being discontinued and illegal to use by dealer  in the USA.
    1. Can still be used in Aus , but most shops here have moved onto  Power Vision or similar, because these tuner  are still supported , software etc..
    2. In USA and Aus you can still download SE Super pro tuner software, (last supported software updates 2018), from  the internet , (not the Harley website).
    3. When you download the software to your computer , it is on your computer like any software. If for some reason it were made illegal and taken down from the internet ,(dont know how that would work), you could/should be able to tune, change, check bike etc, as normal . Of course you need cables to connect bike , VCI , and computer, (these cables are still available),
    4. As the software is now not supported or updated by Harley , you do not need to have internet access, (remember the software is on your computer).
    5. So in a nutshell, if you have the Orange SE Super pro tuner , it is not an expensive door stop just yet.....

To the OP, (binnsy), as you have the se tuner,, I would buy or borrow the required cables, read up on the instructions ,(plenty on utube), connect to bike etc ,,, ... When that is done , you can click VCI tab , (this will show what calibration is in bike etc).....Its a learning curve , but you will get there....
Gee,, any reputable shop should be able to at least connect your bike up with your SE tuner and check things over..... They should have the last software of this tuner on their computer... If they fuck you about with this and that ,,, its a sign to go to another shop.......

Note... I dont know what year the M8 models changed their electronics etc ... The SE Super pro tuner, I believe is not compatible with the latest models, but I could be wrong there.....
If any of the above is not as accurate as it should be, and there are pro or experienced DIY tuners out there ,,, feel free to put us in the right direction.

    Cheers.....

Well said Mark, I'd like to know the guts of it too.
Thought the orange tuners would still be tunable with the bikes they were made to tune.
Really liking the carburettors on the shovel and the Honda 4's right now
