Regarding the Orange SE Super pro tuner, (last part no 32109-08C), this is my take on the current situation on using this tuner after being discontinued and illegal to use by dealer  in the USA.

    1. Can still be used in Aus , but most shops here have moved onto  Power Vision or similar, because these tuner  are still supported , software etc..
    2. In USA and Aus you can still download SE Super pro tuner software, (last supported software updates 2018), from  the internet , (not the Harley website).
    3. When you download the software to your computer , it is on your computer like any software. If for some reason it were made illegal and taken down from the internet ,(dont know how that would work), you could/should be able to tune, change, check bike etc, as normal . Of course you need cables to connect bike , VCI , and computer, (these cables are still available),
    4. As the software is now not supported or updated by Harley , you do not need to have internet access, (remember the software is on your computer).
    5. So in a nutshell, if you have the Orange SE Super pro tuner , it is not an expensive door stop just yet.....

To the OP, (binnsy), as you have the se tuner,, I would buy or borrow the required cables, read up on the instructions ,(plenty on utube), connect to bike etc ,,, ... When that is done , you can click VCI tab , (this will show what calibration is in bike etc).....Its a learning curve , but you will get there....
Gee,, any reputable shop should be able to at least connect your bike up with your SE tuner and check things over..... They should have the last software of this tuner on their computer... If they fuck you about with this and that ,,, its a sign to go to another shop.......

Note... I dont know what year the M8 models changed their electronics etc ... The SE Super pro tuner, I believe is not compatible with the latest models, but I could be wrong there.....
If any of the above is not as accurate as it should be, and there are pro or experienced DIY tuners out there ,,, feel free to put us in the right direction.

    Cheers.....

Thanks mate, managed to download the software thanks to a forum member. Thanks DocGreen   Might go and have a chat to local dealer and see how they can help me.  According to the software fyi up to 2018 M8 engines are supported. Mine is 2018.

So popped into my local HD dealer this morning for a chat re dyno etc. They tell me they now only use power vision to do dyno tunes and that the screamn eagle tuner is obsolete. They no longer have the software to use it. $600 for the tune $600 for them to buy a license to tune my bike. !!! I say I have a power vision tuner can I not just buy a licence for mine so I can use it on the bike myself and you can use mine to tune the bike?. Reply was,  not sure we can do that!  So it would seem that I'm getting a lot of I don't really know answers to my questions even from the so called experts. Fk me all I want is a tune done. Reckon I'll get more sense from the local lawn mower repair shop. Should've bought that Triumph. Pretty disappointed

Has your Power Vision module already been married to another bike previously? or is it married to the one you want to get tuned? If it is off the bike you currently have they should be able to tune the bike without a license. The PV module on my bike can have the tune altered by email from the person who tuned it.

The reason dealers in Australia went away from using the SE tuner a couple of years ago is because the software that runs the program asks to be updated regularly, you click on update and what happened is the new download from Harley Davidson limited the parameters of the tune to the point an optimal outcome was not achievable. The updates could not be reversed.

The parameter change was intended for the US market compliance, but it affected the tuners globally i believe.
I am aware of a tuner that has a virgin SEST program that has not been updated and can work as good as the original super tuner did. As far as i know he can still do the SE tuner and use all it's previous parameters.

Been married to another bike. My understanding is I can purchase another licence for the PV and use it on my new bike. HD stared categorically that they will not tune the bike with the screamn eagle tuner. Fit for the bin it would appear. 😡

Yep. That's what I'm told. Might as well wipe my arse with the tuner.

I do not know where you are, but IF the SEPST orange box is for your bike, then I can tune it with that. Easy peasy. I should also be able to tune the bike with a PV license, then transfer the license to your PV.. What year is the bike??

Without me dribbling on , he will answer all your question etc  regarding using the SE Super Pro tuner , or getting a licence for your all ready married Power Vision to your second bike etc...I dont know how many licences you can get on a personally owed Power Vision, but I know its at least one.......
From your posts you seen to live on the south of Melbourne ,,, nice ride to Packenham on the freeway.....

Was the dealers quote for a licence for the Power Vision , (yours or theirs), for them to tune your bike  of $600 correct ??  If so, something is wrong...

2018 Lushy. SGS stage 4. I'm in Geelong and believe you are in Victor Harbour. It's running OK I just wanted to tweek it with a dyno and know for myself that it is done properly. All too hard mate. Think I'll just have to suck it up. Would love you to tune it but long way from me sadly.

H.D are going to have a lot of pissed off folk who have one of those orange boxes then.
I have one of them and did not realise they are nearly obsolete, unless you can nip round to Victor Harbour for a tune up.

Apparently you can have a many licenses as you like for one PV. They quote $200 on their sites. I imagine that's U S the dealer quoted $600 for tune and $600 for licence and that was for him to keep on his PV. Bugger that. I'm in Geelong mate.
Cant see why I can't get a licence for my PV and they use mine to tune it.

The Fred who used to work at Westbury (or thereabouts) was known as an ace tuner, he moved to QLD somewhere. Slacks Creek rings a bell.
