The questions have started.

Seeing as I have now joined the elite ie: SG Special owners group, I have a few questions, starting with the rear brake pedal.  I am in no way tall (read 5,8 in the old scale) but on the ride home from the big smoke yesterday I found the angle and basically the location of the rear brake pedal a little odd.  Most unusual movement needed to apply the brake, quite a purposeful lift of the foot to get it out from under the brake pedal, then a bit of a pull back of the leg to be able to plonk my foot where I needed it.  I have searched the forum a little regarding an extended type brake pedal, (makes sense to me, just change the angle of your foot and stomp on the brake) there wasn't a lot here, some old posts.  Has anyone else noticed this and what was the fix?  I do have lowers fitted to the bike so I believe that alters my options somewhat.  Extended pedal seems easy enough to fit by the looks.
Other than a few other questions to follow soon, I found the bike lovely to ride, stage 4 so plenty of grunt, not that I need it at my age.  Getting used to the heavier bike after a fatboy. Its a handful in heavy slow traffic !!

I had the same issue with Brake Pedal .. 17 RGS .. went with the Extended Brake Pedal and mostly solved the issue .. you should be able to get one through Genuine Harley or try aftermarket such as Kyurarkin .. wrong spelling i know but Hopefully you might know who i mean .. others here might have other ideas .

I have a Street Glide and tend to not use the rear brake pedal, the brakes are linked so I get by with the front virtually all the time.  Have not yet had the experience on this bike of cornering too hot and wanting the rear brake to tighten my line yet.  Given the linked brakes work above 25 mph could prove interesting.

Wasnt sure the linked brakes were that effective, sounds like they might be though.  Thanks..

Mickle told me the extended brake pedal was the best investment he's made for all his tourers. It's absolutely a pain to have to lift the foot to engage the lever. Thinking of it doing it myself. Good luck getting one.

Uncomfortable items on any motor vehicle are bad news.
Just put an extended gear lever on my Shovel and it makes a big improvement, was not easy to find one but it was well and truly worth the hunt.

I have heard of people cutting out a thin V in the pedal lever and tack welding it on the back to flatten it out. Couldn't find any pics and don't know how strong it would be.

Thanks PhoenixHD I actually just ordered the Kuryakyn one ten minutes ago !!  I read with interest your screen mod.  My bike has what I think is a 51/2 inch recurve type screen on it at the moment.  Wasn't too bad on the ride home the other day re buffeting, but could've been a little better.  Found if I dropped my head down a couple of inches it went away.  Have been looking at numerous options the last couple of days.  The Klockwerks  get a good wrap and as well priced through Easyr.  I don't want to be looking through the screen if I can help it and get rid of the buffeting at the same time.  What sort of screen did you use to cut down?  Pic of the bike screen attached.  Also noticed my right leg got hot as F#$K the other day in traffic.  These M8s run bloody hot!!

Thanks Steelo, are you looking through or over that screen, if through does it distort the vision at all?

I find that a screen that sits at eye level when sitting on the bike is the best compromise. Looking thru a screen when riding into the sun or cornering is a distraction to me. When its raining the short screen deflects water over the top still but creates a interesting aero effect......the water on your wet weathers actually get pulled back towards your screen.

Thanks again PheonixHD for your info.  Think I will give the screen idea a run.  As far as I know I still have the cats installed, will look into that, the heat was extreme the other day.  The EITMS is deactivated on my bike, might turn it on and see if it helps.  Ive said it before in a post ages ago, but I loooove the colour of your bike.  What part of the world are you from?

The EITMS will only help ( marginally) when the bike is at idle. The cat removal is the best option for a reduction in heat. Its a simple but dirty job to do but you will require some welding skill to do yourself. If you dont have the gear have a chat to your friendly car muffler man

Sounds like a job that needs doing. Can't weld for shit so I'll get someone to do it for me. Couldn't believe the amount of heat I was feeling. I thought there was something wrong with the bike.

I got a 12 inch HD screen that sits just below the eye line, I find this height perfect

the only down side is the screen is not black like the original, I did think to tint it but unless it is a great job would be obvious
