Well a winner and a first, 2020 Mitsubishi Express van got a zero rating. Surely we have some standards that dont allow vehicles like this to be sold in Australia.Even Mustang got 2 stars

What we need is an ANMAP.
Guess you’d need a bloody big airbag. 😎
I see from 2022 cars need to include motorcycle awareness tech.

Hopefully that's not just a buzzer after they have run over us!

A good safety feature in cars (that helps us riders) is blind-spot detection systems, a technology for drivers that are too lazy to turn their heads to check when changing lanes.

Yeah I’m told by drivers whose cars have those features that they work ok but have made them less attentive drivers.

Think I’ll keep my Vance & Hines warning system a while longer.

Apart from the blind spot alerts the 2023 ANCAP is to include autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and other automated technologies that steer cars away from crashing with riders.

Sounds a bit sci-fi to me.

All this technology is great as long as the drivers use it. Some drivers turn these aids off due to false alerts being activated to often and giving them the shits.

When driving my vehicle ( bike or car) I am driving my vehicle and nobody else's vehicle, It is up to the other driver to stay away from blind spots ,travel a safe distance etc . I cant keep my attention on the road ahead, and what's in the mirror. if I have to keep worrying about other drivers bad habits. This would be distracted driving. Indicators do not automatically give the person doing the indicating right of way.
    Drive safe.

The ANCAP rating system is fucked and not really representative across the board.

a car does not determine  what a person who drives them, drives like. plus the ANCAP rating does not help you drive better or worse.
I think city drivers & riders, who are always stuck in traffic, so mostly doing low speeds. Need to take care more on country roads, till they get used to the higher speed's. & country people need to get used to stopping a lot more & keeping eye on all the bikes & car's around them. Also think faster ( more traffic lights, more lanes, totally different conditions) & everyone needs to put the phone in the boot!! & if riding phone in the bag!!
