2018-on Fork set-up for FLHX.

I had my Bitubo cartridge fork out for service so I decided to tweak the stock DBV fork.
Took 10mm of pre-load out (30mm free sag)
Changed fork oil to Honda (Showa) 10W race fluid at 130mm.
The difference is astounding. Much smoother ride, tips into corners better. Way better than stock.
The forks only take 15 min tops to pop out. Well worth doing them.

Nutty, any more info on this or pics?
Don't know about 15mins to get the forks out, but agree, not a hard job.
I swapped out the standard fork oil for penrite 10w and it gave a noticable improvement.
Now getting the top cap back in, fark me, what a pain.
Cheers

I made up a bench jig to refit the caps. It bolts to the bench and then you just floor-jack the leg up and screw it on. Penrite 10W is 37 cSt and Showa 10 is 35.3 so that oil is fine. I set the static sag at 33mm.
I'll make a vid next time. As for 15mins, I could drop the forks out and skoll a beer in 15 mins. Happy to have a case on that wager!
You're welcome to borrow these forks, I'm just tweaking the compression valving on them now.

Thanks for the offer nutty, all good though mate. I aint no Valentino Rossi that's for sure, am interested in a piccy of your cap install jig though. Was going to make one out of timber to clamp to the fork tube to wind the cap down.
Cheers

Yep, mine's just made of timber. Took 30 mins.
