G'Day Guys, friend has a 2011 XL1200x that will fire but immediately (within a second or 2) dies. Trouble codes were PO373 and 374 Crank Position Sensor. Have changed this and still the same. Have replaced both O-Rings in the fuel coupling. Pump is running and seems to be pressurising fine. Any suggestions as to where else to look? Thanks in advance.

have you checked fuel filter & the fuel pump?
Also what fuel is it running ? & how long since the last fill up?

Yeah mate drained the tank and new fuel. Bike apparently ran one minute then wouldn't restart. Pump is pressurising. I'm leaning towards ignition control module.

    Hey HD,
Do you have some history about that bike before this happened?was it back firing etc...
The symptoms might suggest a faulty coil.
Is there good sparks? and what sparks plugs brand do you have fitted?
What I would do is to check the spark plugs to see if they are wet or dry straight after trying to start the bike to check if we have a fuel problem or ignition problem...Let us know the outcome..

I always seem to get the combo deals. This bike came with leaking o ring at the QD. Fixed that, wouldnt start even with a spray of fuel in the TB. Checked codes got CPS so changed that. Wont start but does so with a spray. Remove fuel pump, line between pump and filter is split. Change that, runs perfectly.
