That's awesome, obviously he'd just fire it for each pass, noting there is no water pump, radiator or cooling system to speak of, just a bypass hose!

UltraPete, EJ Potter, built his first v8 bike & road it on the street, till the cops stopped him. then started taking it to the track. I suppose after so many v8 bike builds & riding them flat out all the time. he would have, tried different set up's. Not having radiator & water, would make it easier to build & lighter. Also would warm motor up fast.
there was interesting story's about things EJ Potter did, while traveling in USA with that bike. he would get Brand new Trucks, have the v8 bike set up to run the new trucks, wheel & tyre on the back. at the track he pulled the front wheels + tyre's off the truck, each pass would use a new wheel + tyre, then later call into a car dealership, & ask them to look how much wear from tyres on his new Truck that only had low miles up. the Dealers could not work it out so fitted new tyre's free.

Looked like his back side was smoking, seat was just about on rear tyre!  lol . Wild Bill Shewsberry was also out from the states at Castleragh Drags with his wheel standing Dodge Dart, in those day's those two unbealeavable to a kid!!
