Gidday one and all and a Happy New Year .
Recently had a bit of work done to my 2017 Road Glide Special and while they were in the engine I got them to drill the hole into the inner primary cover and install that small rubber hose to prevent Crankcase pressure build up .
My question is would it help or hinder if I also added the Fuelling Venting dipstick .. haven't had a lot of Oil loss but was thinking if it would help then why not .. but was not sure if there was such a thing as to much Crankcase Venting prevention .
Look forward to any advice .. Cheers .
Gidday Grease Monkey .. not so much a oil transfer issue , did have a little oil loss issue from gearbox but primary was not overfill .. it`s more of a prevention enquiry .
As mentioned I had some motor work done recently and while they were in the motor I had them do the Factory fix which is the drilling of small hole in inner primary and placing the small rubber hose in it that is supposed to prevent Oil transfer .. got it done as a form of prevention .. couldn`t hurt .
The original inquiry is can one have to much Venting , for example if I was to add the Fuelling Venting dipstick as a way of extra prevention would that hurt or hinder the motor .
My thinking was / is for a couple of hundred bucks if it would help then why not .. but if it was to much venting for the engine then I would not do it .. I know there will be people who will say if it ain`t broke , don`t fix it .. but as most people who own Harleys and have spent money on their motors will say maybe that if it helps save money in the long term and it doesn't hurt doing it then why not .
Just trying to make the correct choice .. Cheers .
