Tuner confusion

My first hog was a 96 Fatboy with carbs which I understood.
I have just bought my late brothers 2016 Fatbob which is fuel injected, which is new to me.
He’s only done about 5,000 kms on the bike and he has had stuff done to it. He took it to Neville Lush in Victor Harbour SA and had all sorts of internal work done (not at home right now so can’t remember exactly what). He’s got larger airflow filter, TBR 2-1 comp exhaust, plus the special little tuner box thingy. Neville Lush did all this work and dyno tuned it after.
It runs great, sounds great and goes like the clappers with no issues. I have no desire or need to improve on what he’s already done as I’m happy exactly the way it is running wise.
My question is: Apart from my regular oil changes and lubes ETC... does it need regular tuning?
I was told it needs that little tuning box specific now to this bike, but does it only need tuning if something goes wrong or is it something regular that needs doing every so many kilometres? Does it need to be dyno tuned from now on or just regular tuned with the aid of the tuner box where it plugs into ??

If Lushy has had his magic wand over it just leave it. Highly respected tuner up there with the best if not the best.

It only needs a retune if you make modifications. Throttle body, air cleaner, exhaust, cams.

Ok. It’s what I thought but hearing it confirmed is satisfactory 👍👍

    Interesting question.....
Not an expert by any means regarding tuning,,, but  any chance I get to be in the company of said experts I rack their brain as much as I can.

My take,, Its all data in , and all data out ,, just like you PC ,, laptop or mobile.... If bike is tuned correctly, (and this is the big IF),,,and the bikes internals are good and within spec, (another big IF) ,,, and all sensors are good and operating correctly, (If a problem here, a code should come up) ,, bike should /will run good and consistent to the tuning data imputed.... Just like your PC etc... But like your PC, programs can be corrupted when connected to the internet..... The only time the popular flash tuners are connected to the internet are when they are updated or when you download a map,, Very low risk...
As with everything mechanical,, components wear and performance issues may arise,,,, Just like us fella's ,,, the brains giving good data out,, but the old body is just not what it was,, ie, performance issues ....

Other than  good maintenance , oil changes ,, plugs ,, air cleaner etc ,, etc ,, a good battery and charging system on these later efi bikes is paramount.

To the OP.... You got your bike tuned by one of the best ,,,,, Forget about all of the above for now ,, (other that the maintenance etc), and ride the living crap out of that bike ,, and enjoy .......

    Awesome reply mate👍
What I was thinking. I’m pretty confident doing the usual maintenance having owned bikes for 50 years and doing my own. The fi thing is new to me but exactly what I was expecting to hear.
If my past has any influence over my future riding then this bike will soon have lots of kms on her.
My 96 Fatboy I put 28,000 kms in 8 months before marriage problems seen her disappear. This bike will never be sold even under the muzzle of a gun. Too sentimental with my only brother owing it and passing away.

I think late model Harley's, be it carb or EFI, with there high performance hydraulic lifters. need very little done as no valve adjustment, no rear belt drive adjustment & very rarely needs primary chain adjustment. just change oil & oil filter. Check tyres, once in while change primary oil, & with big twin can put Redline heavy Shockproof gear box oil in and does not need changing from then on, unless some unforeseen issue comes up. EFI & carb once tunned that's it, only one thing you do need to check on once in while, is that battery health & that regulator working ( need to do that when motor running ) . and brake pads ( if you live in the city ). also good to check tyres & your rear drive belt & check tyre pressure . enjoy your ride!
