G'day to all. Had a heritage classic 25yrs ago and always missed it, so finally bought another one, loving it. Great site with lot's of good info, thanks to all who share their wisdom. Was hoping someone might be able to help me identify a 6 pot front caliper on my 96 heritage. Can't find anything online at all. Had new tyres put on yesterday and the mechanic thought that it was an early performance machine caliper. The only markings on it are the letters TP. Any info appreciated, thanks

Yeah, probably. I thought with the description and the letters i mentioned would be enough for someone who knows what it is. Thanks anyhow for your input.

I looked up a couple hundred google photos of various brands of Harley suitable calipers. Couldn’t find anything with tp on it. A photo would help.
We had a problem here once with finding the best type of 710 to put in the bike.

Ha, got the 710 covered ;). I looked at the same 100's of photos mate, couldn't find it either. It looks pretty old school. Will get a photo soon. Thanks

Looked at the Pic, & remember seeing those callipers a long time ago, someone in American made them, just another CNC, but I can't remember the name now. they would have been from late 1980's-1990's. most of those brakes more for looks than performance. But if I can remember right, those ones would have been better than Performance machine. Although some of the Quickest Nitro Top Bike Harleys, like Bill Furr's for one were sponsored by Performance machine and ran there 6 piston callipers & I think performance machine disc's. if you could locate some old American Hot Bike magazines from late 1980's, I'm sure you would see your brake advertised in the Mag's.
I also think someone in Australia also made some brakes similar to what you have, by the look of your disc , does not look like you use the brakes hard?

Thanks for the response. Haven't had the bike long, and the caliper is not working as it should, so trying to track down maker, to look at rebuild/refurb options, or not, before i rip it apart. Don't know how hard previous owner used to brake.

Well I’m sorry to report I’ve checked google and looked at over a thousand images. Nothing even close.
I imagine internals can be serviced with generic parts. Replace if needed with new diff brand. Got to admit it looks good.

Thanks for your troubles mate. Probably the same thousands of images i looked at. Can't believe that there's not one picture on the net of the f@#ker. Agreed, i like the look as well. Will pull it apart and see where i go from there. The standard HD one came with the bike, so it will get me out of trouble.
