    Hi All Harley riders

Just joined up and looking for advise please
I have just traded my Rocker for a new Breakout , i am wanting to black the rims completely re powder coat as i have access to get this done
I have asked to get a price to remove the tyres from the rims , remove the bearings and pully wheel  , they have come back to me with a crazy  price as they need to replace bearings , squash tube (maybe as they should have the tools to do it correctly) , but they have said i need new rotors and rear pulley. Why would i need to replace these items on a brand new bike thats still in the workshop can any one advise please

    Cheers Gronk

I’d say if the deals not done. Run.

Might need new bolts for rotors and pulley. I remember they might be one time use.

They may not warranty the bike unless they put new bearings in as well.

My advice would be to wait till end warranty.
What if finish breaks down. Who will you blame.

I am a bit suspicious BB but the jury is out. We can't turn on everyone like the good old days
Which dealer are you getting the bike from Gronk. Who is the salesman

move on i reckon.no one could guarrentee bearing longevity after removal, even with factory tools.the crush /spacer tube should/would be still good.new pulley/rotor bolts, possibly a little over the top,but for a reliable job , maybe worth it....but replacing pulley and rotor, even after reasonable km'they would most likely still be servicable. i feel some people/places insist on replacing everything because they lack the skill to determine what is good and what is not....worked with a bloke like that..." when in doubt , throw it out ",taken to the extreme.

    You know what you want.
But what I would try to do is pick up some wheels that fit the bike , get them painted how you want, get some new tyres to fit, keep wheels & tyres that come with the bike as they are, & any time you need to take bike to the dealer fit the stock wheels & tyres. that way warranty ok & no excuses from Dealer. it's simple to change wheels could get new drive Sproket and new disc to make it easier swap.

Agree. Also your bike will always be worth more if you have the stock fittings at time of sale.

That was my reply that got deleted. I also got a message from " SYSTEM" warning me not to pick on new members or I will be kicked off the forum.
It might be a coincidence that GGUser98 has joined the forum with the exact same name  format of the troll that was here last week.
That was the one steelo picked up on. That entire thread got deleted.  If GGUser98 is fair dinkum he will reply to this.
But I will make a bet he wont.
Just noticed FBUser42 is on the forum now .  8 .15 pm Thursday 10/ 12/2020

Well all I like doing is riding my bike &, if I'm here & a fellow Biker ask's for advice, I try to give them advice.
Not worried about being a judge & jury, so I hope we can get back on track.
