To my mind as long as its been rego`d for a start as in a couple years it should not be a problem Right, thinking about buying a 2012 Super glide custom it has been  103 upgraded a whole lot of Bling, big dollars spent  $18,000. The knees are gettin  week and my Road king is, Although a Beautiful Machine  is more than what I need now looking at something more Nibble & lighter gettin Old is a bitch but I recon it dont need to be a life sentence, just keep riding is all I want ,are Imports that bad as a lot would say ?

The way I see it, all Harley's are imported, have at it if that's what you are after mate.

Never could get my head around the supposed  issues with  " imported "   bikes.
I have a 2002 fatboy that was " imported " .  It had 6000 ks on the clock and was 11 years old when I bought it.
Must have been sitting in some yanks shed for 10 years without being used.
Just dont import anything from China and you should be right.   I am on a mission of not buying anything from China.
    Fuck em.

2001 Nightrain. I imported it when the Australian $ was real high to the US $. Mate saw it while on a work trip over there, 11000 miles on the clock and for sale. Adding up the cost to buy it, ship it over and setting it up for rego over here was a staggering $13 grand. Been a great bike and has given me no grief whats so ever. Will by another Harley or 2 but won't be selling this one.

I agree with everyone else and have bought imports accordingly. The only three other things which may or may not be relevant to buying an import are:

    1) Do you want to have a history (service) history for the bike? Wasn’t important to me when I bought a 30 year old grey import springer but to some it’s important and for a newer bike it would be for me.

History can also tell you where the bike has come from. I wouldn’t want a bike that’s been in a snow environment where salt is used on roads for ice. Same with a bike that’s been right by the ocean. I hate any chance of corrosion and just avoid it altogether.

    2) Re-sale. It does limit your market a bit when you go to sell so can therefore impact value. I’ve sold imported cars and bikes and lots of people are turned off as soon as they find out it’s a grey import.

    3) I can’t remember what else I was gonna say. Thanks Canadian club

Thanks all for your imputs all things mentioned are the way I saw it & have come across peps who po po Grey imports & yes GM all harleys are in fact imports exactly ! I think this will probably be my last harley , but who knows haha  so wont be an Issue selling, its a keeper only 14470klm on clock I`m assuming when new speedo fitted the ECM converts to Klm`s correctly. The 103 upgrade, cam, Fueling lifters, adjustable push rod has been  Dyno`d ,reasonable numbers not staggering but Im not concerned, all has  been done in march this year by a local shop who`s right into his Harley`s & I have had work on my Road king done by him, top bloke! I have seen all receipts thousands spent ,12 months rego new Metzler ME880`s detachable panniers should I miss the convenience of storage, yeah! she`s a beaut ! Have been looking at prices over the last I don`t know maybe 12months & recon the  asking price is staggering on older bikes now so I will regretfully put the Road king on the Market & hopefully recoup some cash...... Just 3 things Fat Bat  haha, Canadian club what a gem! BB have to agree with Boycotting China Mate but once ya start looking, man their got a hand in every feckin thing cheers

17/19 bracket is what I'd be thinking, just need the right buyer at the right time GLWS. Dealers here in WA have struggled get stock, appears CV 19 and dipping into super funds have brought out many buyers, still mining oil and gas workers with coin who have been unaffected by the CV 19.

    CVO Fatbob Magnum ?
I think all 2009 CVO Fatbobs are “grey imports” Harley didn’t bring them in that year, same with the Springer.
Still love my FB, definite keeper.

Things moved quickly ! done the transfer last night, got a call 9.30am this morn  from owner, says it was in his bank .Picked it up 12.30 today then went for a quick blast down the coast ,goes like a scolded cat! power is delivered different from my Road king not sure what cams are in it ( will ask Simon Jobson who done the work at local shop when I go by one day ) the receipt just says S&S & dyno sheet says max power 92 & Torque 109 at around 5000rpm but that`s not a big deal for me I just love how it feels to ride & it  looks mint, very Happy with purchase .

    Looks great. Well done gidgi.
I’ve had 17 (10 years with me) relatively trouble free riding on my imported 03 deuce. I only heard about import issues well after I bought it. Never given it a thought since.
I hope you have the same run.
