So as it started I saw an Orange/Gold (Amber Whiskey if you're pedantic), 1 owner (it was a lady owner, so I guess its a girls bike!!) twin cam SG with 12k km up for a good price. Bit of haggling I got it cheaper still. It had the Books, 2x fobs, cover, bag liners and useless HD little tool kit thingo
It had the blacked out crash bars, forks & LED headlight already fitted

My old Breakout was a screamer and this was a bit of a snail in stock form, which the misses confirmed
So it was off to be built. Initial plan was 110 but went 117. Parts as follows
    S&S bits:
-117 kit, flat top pistons, compression should be 10:5:1. However I could be wrong
    -89cc heads, flywheel, 635 cam/cam plate/oil pump/chain tensioner/adjustable pushrods
HD 58mm TB, SE Tappets (will change these later on as I know prone to clapping out, Fueling will be the go)
    TTP lock up clutch,
Fitted at home prior to build
-TBR exhaust, PM intake, RWD 13inch rear suspension, Lengend Aexo front drop ins
-14inch bars, mirrors and a newer model SG wheel set with bridgestone H50 tyres

Bike got built at 13k kms. Now at 15k km and running sensational. Happy with the HP, wouldnt mind a bit more TQ
Future plans- change exhaust to a 2:1 and maybe Trask Turbo kit when Aus dollar improves.

I would say SE tappets due to the easiness & availability or there was some in the shop already.
I agree on the HP+ lifters
Yes TBR was fitted and flashed before build.

    Thanks for sharing Nathan.

I assume the tbr short exhaust is the reason behind the graph shape.

What bottom end work was done to your bike?

Bottom end was case machining, change of flywheel/crank and fit timken bearings to where they needed to go.

Thanks Nath it’s always interesting to hear about bottom end work done as not overly common here but agree it’s the right foundation to build a big cube engine around.

I’m always curious as to who does the bottom end work (noting that many regular shops would contract that work out), what parts used, cost of labour and parts etc. But also mindful some of us don’t like sharing all info about costs and money

Cheers and hope you enjoy the bike.

Nath I reckon that cam is a bit short for the comp mate, sure the peak numbers are decent but the torque falls off a cliff, I've spoken to hoody and lushy about cams and comp as I was in the same sort of boat, I had the 590ps2 at 10.5, went to the 263 and the engine just runs better, I reckon you would find the 625 suits your 10.5 better, just an observation mate, not being critical.

Its from my building track car days. You can have 400+hp but if you dont have the drive line to back it up & stopping ability, youre only setting yourself up for failure. Brakes are the standard calipers w/new rotors and better pads. Probably change to Galfer rotors once these are cactus.

GreaseMonkey- Completely understand where your coming from regarding cams. At the moment Im happy to put some kms on the bike. Looking into Andrews & Zippers for future change when I change over lifters. As said earlier, Just happy to put some kms on the bike. No racing yet until I get an inverted front end.
