Hi all, new to the forum!

I’m about to make a decision to upgrade to stage 1 on my 2020 fatbob.

Was wondering if a 2 into 1 is better for performance and also sound? I previously owned a sportster with VNH short shorts, I loved the sound and extra kick it gave her.

Does this change with a different bigger bike? Heard a few opinions on this.

    Any comments would be great!

Difficult to generalise all 2-1 exhausts v all 2-2 exhausts. There are good and bad performers among the different types. 2-1 exhausts are supposed to scavenge better and provide better low-midrange performance but some have bad performance dips down low and don’t perform as well as some of the better 2-2 pipes.  There are so many variables with exhausts.  I’m a fan of the supertrapp 2-1 supermeg exhaust which is tunable, not obnoxiously loud but it isn’t to everyone’s taste in terms of sound or appearance. Hard to find an exhaust that ticks everyone’s desires but if it’s a stock or mildly modified engine the differences in performance are likely to be negligible.  For street use, longer length (headers) and some back pressure usually increase response in the range we ride at on the street. Ie totally opposite of the short shots you’ve used previously.    Good luck

Decided to go for a Two brothers racing exhaust. Heard it has a really good response to performance.

Heard a fat bob with a stage 1 with tb’s exhaust. Sound is a little barky as apposed to a deeper rumble which I love. Guess you have to decide what’s more important to you.

    Thanks

    I'm not an expert & have only ridden a m8 200km
having said that, a friend owns a m8 & has his own DJ250i dyno, he said I think it was Rhineheart slip on's on Stock header's got a good result for the $. all m8's sound different to me than twin cam & Evo big twins , but twin cam sound different to EVO & Shovelheads sound's different again & Panheads sound different again , so do Knuckleheads & Sportsters sound different too. but I go off how hard they go!!
enjoy your new ride!! could price a set of slip on's it the two brothers 2 into one to loud, personally I've always liked the duels, but Like fatbat mentioned Supertrapp 2 into 1 supermeg are a good pipe, in that they are tune able & can have them quite or louder, just some like the look some don't.
