Ended up in Nambucca Heads mate. Absolutely perfect weather for a ride. I should have taken a couple of pics from the lookout behind the bike.  It was stunning.

Just out and about reasonably locally. This was the back road detour I was just turning off to take a few weeks ago when the battery died. Some gravel, some bitumen, lots of potholes in both. At times it looks like you're chugging through someone's paddock. The pic is taken by a nice part of Arababy Ck.

Bet it's good to be back out an about Steve, nothing worse for a living biker than to be house bound

Oh fuck yeah. Taking it in small steps, but every ride is helping me build strength back. That what I tell myself anyway when my arms and shoulders hurt for a couple of days after each ride.
Might try one of the Vics next time, about 40kg heavier, 12" bars on 4" risers compared to 10" on 2" risers on the Sporty, but without the sudden clutch take up and the heavy steering at very low speed that comes from the 21" front wheel and the 1.25" shorter shocks on Harley.

Sporty in the thriving district of Mt Beppo, across the road from the old general store that's been closed for as long as I've been riding through.
Sunday afternoon in the sticks, only activity was half a dozen young people leaning on cars in the community hall carpark, sipping beers.
One young woman was sitting on the bonnet of an old Toyota Crown, and I has an instant flashback to Springsteen's scene setting lyrics, "barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a Dodge drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain ".
Wasn't a Dodge in sight of course,  they were old Toyota's and Hyundai's. Closest Dodge was probably parked outside the Grand Hotel in Esk while it's owner, a bloke my age and his younger girlfriend tucked into a tourist priced meal out the back.
Ah well, I enjoyed my locals priced basic burger at the Somerset Dam village general store. Did about 110 kms, longest I've done for months, got through it without too much pain, things are improving.

I too went for a ride into town, my brother was over to see the oldies, he took the pic after I took him for a quick lap around a local loop to show him how the quick shifter works, he was suitably impressed.

Looking out over the Neara Creek valley in the late afternoon with the Pohlman range in the distance on the right. Grass has grown a bit since I last stopped here.
Hadn't planned to stop, was coming back from a session with an exercise physiologist trying to get more movement and less pain back in my left arm, when the arm started shaking uncontrollably.
Apparently when I started weight work a couple of months ago I tore the triceps in my left arm by going at it a bit hard.
    Bugga!

Rode down to Beechworth to see a mate. 2nd time this year, this was through Canberra from Richmond. Earlier in the year it was via Bathurst to Wagga.
I’m surprised how comfortable the bike is, not as good as my old Electra Glide but still good.
I go over 600 kms on it in a day and I’m not sore.👍

Anzac day was when we did the bigger ride out to Paradise Dam. It's about 30k's from Biggenden. When we left we went to the Grand Hotel in Childers for lunch. The ride home felt long after eating and having a beer lol. It's only an hour from Childers back to the Bay. If you head up this way on a weekend, let me know if you want to meet up somewhere for lunch or a coffee.

Who knows if i can drag along a legend formerly from Obi Obi ....

Thanks for the kind thought mate, but it's gonna be a while before I'm back up to 600 km days.
A little bit less if I met you at Tiaro.
And to think I rolled the 1600 kms to Melbourne for my son in laws funeral in 2 days only 18 months ago.
Given up on the idea of riding either of the Vics anytime soon, can't lift my left arm up to the bars. Gonna have to keep stretching the triceps as it heals to get the mobility in the arm back, then work on strengthening it.
So getting the Sporty more comfortable is the next job. Ordered a seal kit for the blown Ikon shocks I was running up to a few years ago today, once they're  back on I'll get another 1.25" of travel. Also rear ride height will be higher which will reduce the low speed flop in the front end and make the low speed steering lighter.
I'll see where it goes from there. It's already done it's share of 800 km days in the last 35 years.
And if it seems like I'm moaning too much about feeling crook, I probably am. I know there's blokes on here way worse off than me.
But everyone needs a good moan sometime when its giving them the shits, so thanks for putting up with it.
And I dunno about the legend bit PB, I think I'm just a bloke that likes to ride motorcycles more than most other things in life, so I've kept doing it a lot.
