M8 touring tune

    Any one with m8 touring got pinging noise /problems mine pinging

    ptp200, I've got a 2017 SGS and have had no pinging at all  stock, stage 1 and now stage 2.
    Bit more info may be helpful mate, and post in the workshop section may get more bites.

    Anything under 3000 rpm it pings loud an sit on 100kph in fifth gear pings 80kph in 4th pings 60 mph in 3rd pings . From take off unless you rev hell out of it ,it pings badly. Been to shop 5 ,6,7 times maybe more ,I've lost count, been on dyno heaps of times . Still pings. Does not ping in temperatures under 16°c  over this temp it pings .This RGS is unreadable in summer. And no one knows why. No one can stop it.

    Sorry to hear. My 17 ultra rides and runs like a dream. You say bike has been on Dyno. Does it have a tuner?  Has it been modded?  Cams? Timing, pipes? When? Who? 
    Bad fuel can do it. 
    When did you last fill up. 
    Drain fuel and try different octanes. 
    Start at 91, 95, 98, 100
    Perhaps try an octane booster. 
    A knock sensor (boys will know how where to fit one) will tell you if detonation or just another engine noise. 
    Hope we can solve it in 1 page.

    do you only fill up at the one servo
    do you use the same dyno shop
    I have a 2019 RGS and have no issues, stock standard

    are your injectors blocked (partial)

    Thanks  for feed back,yes I have tryd all those tricks. I have screaming eagle tuner... yes same dyno..no different servos. Got 52000 on it do a lot ks on weekends ,not any more. To scared to ride it. RGS has stage 4 t man head breathers ,external throtle body breathers crank case breather dip stick breather. Fueling cam an oil pump an cam plate an lifters TBR 2-1 TURN out exhaust ,spark plugs colour is perfect an dry. I have fan assisted oil cooler. Bike is very fast spins over 200ka 's  with ease. But pings big time under 3000rpm in summer

    What dongle do you have? The pro tuner or the street tuner? The street tuner would struggle with a stage four using anything but the Harley kit cam , many reasons, what state are you in?
