New Mufflers and Throttle Lag - Tuner required?

    Hi all,
I put some V&H slash cut slip-on mufflers on the bike yesterday and took it out today for a little run (sounds much better now).

I noticed there is a fair amount of throttle lag now. I’m assuming I need to move ahead with a tuner sooner rather than later to overcome this?

I was going to wait until I did the air cleaner, but perhaps the tuner is needed now?

Cheers for your experience and advice.

Sounds similar, but I haven't had the issues of it cutting out.  It does seem to idle quite high too (around 12-1500), when warm around 1000 rpm.  I might try the tuner before the airbag to see if it makes a difference.  I wanted to go the FP3 path.
Hope you're lock-down woes end soon, it's such a crazy time at the moment.

Forgot about this thread.  I ended up putting a V&H air cleaner and an FP3 tuner on the bike and its perfectly fine for now.  Looking to do the 1250 kit soon, so hopefully the FP3 is able to manage that also, time will tell.

Good to hear happy with FP3 !
if you have 883 now the 1250 or 1275 kits would be a good gain, but if your motor 1200, not much difference , other than higher compression & if you add improved heads.

Yeah, its an 883 unfortunately... I went against every bit of advice I was given and bought the 883 (in saying that, the price I picked it up for was ridiculously low). Thinking 1250 kit, but just waiting till I need to get a service done so it's all at once... I think if I do the 1250 kit it will still have cost me less than if I bought the 1200 at the time, so I guess I am winning a little bit.
