Looking to get some for the Mrs new 500 and they all seem to be around $1100 - Are there any that arent worth 20% of the cost of the bike??

This company makes them for Street and Softails. I had them on my softail but ended up swapping to genuine Harley forwards, not as sturdy or well built. But if you want a cheaper option this is it. 

I read a review article on the street 500. The reviewer (Aussie) said the part was "surprisingly cheap", as part of the reason everything is made in India.
