Piece of piss. Changed mine to 16 inch apes. Measured the length required for cables, extended the wiring. Removed tank, exhaust. Had mine done in a few hours. The hardest part for me was getting the wiring to go through the bars, that was a pain in the arse and took up most of the time. Just take your time and you should have no problems.

Saw a video with a guy using compressed air to blow a shoelace through the bars from handle to hole, then used the shoelace for a piece of flexible wire back to the handle and used it to pull all the cables through. Tool him a couple of minutes for both sides.
Some looms come with plugs at each end for fly by wire models so it's plug and play (fbw models have smaller plugs which feed through bars fairly easily).

If you're using compressed air and string at the start and wire your bars before installing the longest part should be disassembling everything and bolting it back together.

You had to remove your exhaust to change handlebars?!?!
I used welding wire instead of a shoelace, throttle side was time consuming because there's more wires but wasn't too bad.

Exhaust blocked access to the transmission cover so it needed to be removed so the clutch cable could be installed. Was hoping I wouldn't have to but it blocked 2 of the bolts that hold the cover on, so was a good time to install new exhaust gaskets at the same time.

Ah ok then. On the 2018 and up models the clutch cable is two pieces so you just swap the 'upper' part so you don't need to go anywhere near the transmission.
