    is demo bike worth buying?
A demo with couple of hundred Kms could be around 3,000 cheaper, but they could have been abused in every Km by test riders during break in period.

    thought?

Dont forget that the bike will still be covered by fact warranty regardless of the run in process.

Yeah.... I mean in stock form the Harley has sweet fuck all power and is rmp limited to buggery.  Try as they might you would be hard pressed to bugger a new Demo bike with a factory motor.  Now a second hand one that has been tuned or stage 2 then you know for sure its been flogged a bit.
    Go for it.

I would not have a problem with  buying a demo.
The bike would most likely have been ridden reasonably sensibly.
A couple of hundred kms is fuck all.  I would be haggling for about 7 grand cheaper but.

All of the Demo bikes at Fraser's in Newcastle get Stage 1 kits, which I reckon is a bit misleading actually. Maybe they got too many people who complained that the demo bike sounded like a Vespa.

Agree.... The Stock bike is crap, so makes sense that they sneak a stage one flash or something onto the bike to make it at least sound like a harley.

You have never met people trying to sell a ten year old bike for close to what they paid for it!

OK, if you got flames I'l pay the price, but only for flames and definitely not for skulls.
And I hate that Willy G Collection shit that every second bike has.

People woke up one morning thought "fuck, I'm sick off all the Live To Ride - Ride to Live bullshit I paid two and an half grand for on the Harley back in the ninties,  I know, I'll spend three grand more on that Willy G skull bullshit to make the Dyna/Softty/Ultra look like new again..."

    So every second person did.

I bought one of the first demo Road Glides in Australia. It had 3000km on it! Stock standard. Was a lot cheaper then new. Had been ridden by a shitload of people. I’m guessing it wasn’t babied, yet zero warranty issues. Anyway, 36,000 km later and it rode better than new, never used a drop of oil and scared the pants off many an unsuspecting bike 200 m  from the traffic lights and even in some country roads! I did put 254e cams, Fullsac headers, SE mufflers and canned map when I firs5 bought it. Miss that bike! So yeah, get it for a few grand cheaper and reinvest the coin into more riding!

Lots of guys happily marry women that have been rooted by everyone else, buying a demo is probably not too much different.

Hahaha Most women out there have been abused way more than a demo Harley...

Don't have a problem with buying a demo ,, but would have a problem with paying near enough new price for a second hand vechile , personaly i would want 6-7grand of the price , thats why i've never bought one and never will ,, i always wait till the next model comes out and get a good deal on the previous model  , my mate bought the new model low rider ,  in the color i wanted 2 weeks after they were put on the floor ,so i went for a different color which was  built only 3 months prior ,  to his but officially the previous year model ,,, because it was a previous model , we both picked ours up  on the same day , only difference i managed to screw them down by 5 grand , he paid 25 grand plus ,, i paid $20200 ,

Yeah I agree, well sorted but still an M8.
Please don’t think I’m change prejudice. While it had its problems I enjoyed my Shovels, preferred the Evo, then absolutely loved my Dyna Twin Cam “rubber glides”, now riding a CVO Dyna 110 Twin Cam. Tried a few M8’s but just hate the balanced engine.
While there’s other reasons too, Harley sales since the M8’s release suggest I’m not alone.

I think Harley sales would be the same if they were still selling a twin cam. Sales are just down in general.
