Just wondering if anyone else has had a parts problem?
Had to go to 3 dealers around my part of the world (Central Coast NSW) just to get an Air Filter Element today.
They all told me the same story, COVID-19, can't get bits and pieces! (It's not just Harley mind you, had the Wife's electric blanket fail under warranty and there are none in country to replace it either).
Don't know which is going to cause me more grief in the long run though.

i think we are going to feel the impact of corona for a a very long time.john deere hold a huge stock of parts in melbourne, but we are starting to see some parts, which are normally only 1-2 days away, now going on b/order and that means 10 days minimum.

Country of origin on box could explain it.

Was at a non Harley bike shop yesterday. They had stacks of bikes there waiting to be fixed and unable to get spare parts, some of them had been there since March. That would suck.

It all comes down to the magic megabuck. I'm sure if they asked if someone would mind paying freight, to get their bike back up and running, the owner might agree, but they just plain refuse to fork out any extra themselves for customer satisfaction.
In 2003 on the Harley anniversary tour, there was a question and answer session with execs from HD. Someone mentioned the fact their bike was down due to parts. HD exec said they pull bits off of the production line when they have to. After some investigation it was the dealer/ importer at the time who didn't bother to ask.

Been having problems for many months before covid hit. Something about Harley not doing what it needs to do to clear the docks with declarations about asbestos. I eventually cancelled the order and got my sister in the US to get the part for me. Was here in a week. HD are effectively abandoning markets outside the US it seems.

Yeh I couldn't get stuff back in December. My Softail is currently waiting on parts and I'm convinced it's going to take so long that I bought another bike to ride while I wait!

My Company imports from the USA and it depends on what part of the country. One of suppliers has completely shut down due to Covid in Connecticut, the other supplier Sth of Washington is fine.
Im trying to get tyres for my DR and apparently Dunlop are struggling with production. I guess it the way of the future and it maybe easier to start to deal direct with a company close to the source of manufacture.

    From Bolton's MC in Vic:

***PLEASE BE AWARE THAT DUE TO INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS BEING GROUNDED, MOST PARTS THAT GO ONTO BACKORDER WILL TAKE APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS TO ARRIVE BY SEA FREIGHT***

I'm sure it's the same case with most companies.
