Gents have just received a solo seat and would like to know how to carefully remove the glued rubber blocks that support the pillion part of the original Dyna SG seat.
Seem to be well glued onto the fender, don't want to remove any paint.
    ANy tips?
I was hoping to glue the blocks to bottom af orig seat for later if needed.
    Cheers

Have heard of warming the blocks (reflectors) with a hair drier and using a piece of stretched fishing line. Perhaps one of those white painters miracle blocks to remove residue or some light polish.
    Are you related to Dingo?

Edit: Other forums just say warm them up and start at a corner or twist them off. Seems to be a common outcome.

Yeah I have seen that for forklegs but worried about heating the paint.
No relation to Dingo, why you ask?
I did notice he has the same type of offroad camper trailer in the back of his pic he posted.

Sounds like an easy task as long as no sharp tools used.
    Same surname as dingo.

    Sounds like the go M54

That's a good idea from M54. One of the other forums said try not to use any heavy solvents or cleaners on the block itself if you think you want to reuse it and glue to the seat.

    Thanks for the help guys
Got them all off just with a big paintscraper, just kidding.
They actually started lifting easily from a corner and some slow even pressure.
    All done.
Just need to polish up the paint a bit.
New LePera solo seat is a lot narrower than expected with the battery and electronic boxes sitting well proud of the sides of seat.
Also exposed is the gap between the top shock mount cover and strut which was fully covered by orig seat.
    Nice looking seat though.
