    Hi Steve,

Its really frustrating when that stuff happens, maybe it is just the shape of those bars.

    Good luck.

    Thanks mate

Hey Steve, check this HD service bulletin from 2012...if this can help you (or anyone else...)
Also I would not suggest to put solid riser bushings as it will only help to amplify handlebars vibrations...

when i picked up my lowrider [ first hd ] it vibrated bad above 85-90 km,test ride was under 80 km around geelong ,bad enough that i couldnt rest my right foot on the peg.searched uncle google and found the above bulletin and checked the front mount, had zero clearance, fitted genuine mount ,courtecy of peter stevens and all good now for the past 33,000km. i check the clearance now and again and still got clearance.had some vibes in the bars but not too bad, that disappeared as well with the new mount.

What is the expected life of a front engine mount under "normal", not drag off every set of lights, general cruising relatively stock motor.

Mine was on the way out at 42k and now I have a Predator front mount. I think life of the mount would vary heaps, due to rider weight and riding style plus how much highway klms to city traffic.

Well the Predator mount is a different setup to the oem mount, there is nowhere it touches the frame otherthan the mounting points. I have also checked the sidestand bolt and it has about 5mm gap before it could touch the motor. I have a Rinehart 2 into 1 on the bike and the mount doesnt touch anything either. Hmmm going to fight me this one.

This subject is rather complex I think, and have my theories as well ass others.
Bottom line ie is ya ne
'Good Vibrations', er Beach Boys' Nah none is better, on my Guzzies had those weight thingos, which is not the answer. Need to adress the issue head on, and reslove, the shit. Tingling still from Excess 650s Yamaha,BSA , Tryumph, now, 50 years on.. Keep trying.

Yeah it's becoming a hard to solve issue. I searched all over the bike yesterday and cant find anywhere the engine could be touching the frame. The Predator mount is different to the oem and doesn't have the same issues. I'm thinking that it might be an engine issue, the only thing is that when I fitted the Predator the vibration changed to a different rev range.

    My 2014 Fatbob has 115000km
I’ve changed front mount three times.
Ran a Predator mount for 70000km of that.
    Only change rear mount once.
Rear swing arm bearing changed just recently which made a difference to vibration..( not that it was bad)..
check the top engine mount that the nuts are torqued up correctly and aligned. This can cause vibration also.

Hava feel of the motor while riding when the vibration is bad. Do you feel the vibration?

Thanks mate I'll check those things. It has improved by putting an extra rubber washer under the bushes in the risers.
