just looking around for a good vest for the wife .. not really interested in a full on jacket as she has so many already .. interested to hear if anybody has purchased one and how good are they .. wife has very low blood pressure so gets cold very easily so seems like the best option.
up to and around $200 is fine .. ive googled the zarkies . tourmaster, and couple of other so called top brands .

They’ll be coming out of the woodwork now with recommendations wello. I got my vest locally with 2 battery’s. I was going to get you the brand but I won’t now.

Not heated electric, the Drizabone vests with woolen interior (like Ugg boot) are pretty cozy plus the battery wont run out.

i have been wearing a oil skin vest over the leather jacket for a while and it keeps a lot of wind out... bit hot when it warms up though.

yeh drizabone is good stuff .. but dont think it will quite cut it for her this time : )

I have the zarkie jacket liner (better than vest as more heated coverage). Plugs into a lead off the battery. I also have the gloves that plug into the jacket liner. All work very well and easy. I think they do battery version too. I chose zarkie products over others because they have retail shops where you can try the stuff on and buy. And if there’s a problem you can go back to the shop. I’m happy

yeh i looked at the zarkie stuff and it looks good but couldnt find a place round here. im really only interested in the vest as she want to wear her current jackets if possible without spending another shit load on another jacket

Now had a look at quotes from learned friends , and they are all on the money.
Have had Dizabone size 6 for 30 years, and yes has been a god send.
But, in saying that, extra back warmth for the special, is imperative.
I dunno mate, am a back injured dude at the moment with no feeling in legs and feet, from writing off three motorcycles, and four motorcars, never hurt a sole, cept self, sorry too much info.Am pussy now.
Cant even walk properly let alone ride, sideways.
I would go the Fatbat route, he's a homework dude, and you must look after your partner, dog, or friend.
Yeah, electric, and insurance.

electric warmers to wear on MC's been around a while, a friend had a plug in to battery type like FB mentioned, & this was back in 1980's, I remember him forgetting to unplug it after stopping at a servo, he came to a stop quick & unplugged. he loved it.

The zarkie jacket liner is not bulky and fits nicely under jackets. That’s the beauty of them as you can wear them without bulk and adjust the heat to be as warm or cool as you need to. Zarkie don’t have shops but their website or guy I contacted will tell you what shops you can get them at. I got mine at a shop in one of the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Where are you wello?

im in perth mate , i will see how this vest goes for now for her, if its any good i may get myself one and will take a look at zarkies

Had a cheap”ish” heller brand heated vest which worked well off A USB rechargeable battery but was bulky.
Took my Harley leather jacket and the vest to my local dry cleaner and had them sew little pockets for the heater pads into the jacket lining. Cost an eye watering $100.
Now all I need is to switch it on rather than putting the vest on as well.
I’ll give it a test ride and let you know.
You may be able to get hold of the heater pads by themselves.

Folks. FWIW, used the newly heated Harley jacket for a ride into the Adelaide hills this afternoon. Worked a treat although I think a little heat was being lost through the thinner leather of the Harley jacket compared to the padded vest the elements came with. Thinking of putting some sort of reflective insulation behind the elements
Heller vests look like they've upgraded their product with 6 elements instead of 3. They are a local Adelaide Product. Just the vest is 99.95 and a long sleeved zip up hoody style jacket is 199.
