No need to skimp wello. You have plenty of storage For her (and you) and a tie down spot for a Large makeup bag on the tour pak. Make sure suspension and air pressure ok. You should be fine on that bike.
Ok. Battery should be fine. Oil ok for full trip. Perhaps a 1l bottle spare. Perhaps an air pump and puncture plugs. Small tool kit to tighten up stuff that vibrates loose. Bikes do about 5.5 to 6l / 100ks. Phones which include Telstra. Plenty water. 1000 tunes on USB. Earplugs.

Thanks Bruce. Your bike would do the trip as well no probs. Have you got a clip on windscreen? Couldn't see on in the photos. They help.
Having said that, I haven't done a trip west yet but a couple to Canberra and Melbourne. I'd love to..
Perhaps Wello can contact us when he gets into SA and I can organise any members who want to meet for a drink

Agree with Steelo, done many a long haul on the big jiggers and actually ended up packing lighter each time. Join Harley assist they rescued me once so always subscribe before i do a big trip. Check to see if your current insurer offers tow/hire car/accommodation etc before you join Hd

no screen steelo, sort of thinking about one,but have just bought a nolan modular and it is virtually buffet free except in heavy side wind, i might still get a flyscreen...not sure really.my standard seat is good ,but not so for really long runs, have a sundowner a mate sold me and that is magic.wife and i rode to burliegh heads this time last year,4600 k and no problems at all in general, except for water leaking inside the bell visor...nolan fixed that too.
wello has the machine for a long run like he's planning for sure..reckon he could do with a beer and feed when gets to the "mount" and some to share the ride with.

What I would suggest. New bike (albeit the best) Get some saddle time with the missus. Get a firm commitment from her for the trip. Takes a big effort to come along for 7kk?

Has the missus done any big trips before wello? I crossed the Nullarbor East to West about 20 odd years ago and it is something I wont forget but I am not sure if I would do it again.  Its not like going away for the weekend down the coast.  The accommodation back then was very basic but I am sure it would be better now.
I would have a chat to the missus and explain it could be a long boring 4 or 5 days. And then youse have to get back home.
Maybe check out the availability of flights cos there will be a fair chance she might want to fly home.

Been over twice in the past 5 yrs, they have a HD Forums national meet up in Moama, check old posts [National] , CV 19 has closed a couple of fuel stops, both Cockle Bibby and Madura Pass and possible one more ? Great adventure but the novelty has worn off for me, truck to Adelaide and ride on IMO.
    Good luck Wello.

If you’ve never ridden across our continent on a motorcycle, best you just do it! First time was 1988 on a 750 Kawasaki (no fairing). Since then I have seriously lost count. Mates in SA, Vic and the ACT sees me ride across every second year as a rule, more often if possible. More about the journey than the destination. When you get through Port Augusta, go 20km, then east through Horrocks Pass and down through Clare, Barossa, through the Adelaide Hills and down into Mt Gambier. I’d say go further and through the zGrampians and then turn around and come back a different way ... until Pt Augusta. Then no option.
Done on FXDF and FLTRX many time, including a Perth Canberra Perth in 12 days, taking the scenic route.

Yes I’m a bit crazy, but saddle time is precious, so I make the most of it when I get the chance. Also do some good distance WA rides both HD and my adventure bike.

    Embrace it, go for it!

    Ah,
Now this is a breath of fresh air, excellent idea.
Just be aware, as crew on here suggest, and they do come up with good ideas, mostly.
Just think smart man before the frog and toad, be aware while on the tar, anticipate stuff that you can , and remember have a fucken great time.

Hi Wello. I have the Airhawk R (tourer) model for the ultra. It has the cut outs for the family jewels and coccyx. I also swap it over onto the Deuce. Surprisingly on one long trip I was getting uncomfortable and a lot of heat in the nether regions and took the AH and back rest (which I felt was pushing me forward) off and have enjoyed the riding a whole lot more. Because you need to sit up a bit straighter I sometimes use a motorcross style kidney belt for back support. Takes a lot of stress away. The missus will be OK because she doesn't have to do anything except lean back into the Tour pak.

I would not worry about fuel Wello.
Quoting from google here ,"The longest stretch between fuel stops is about 190km between Balladonia and Norseman".
So you oughta shit it in.

Who was the author/organisation revealed in your Google search?
With Covid restrictions closing some fuel outlets I'd be wanting a trust-worthy source.
