Figured a way to store the bike lift out of the way!  Damn thing just takes up Sooooo much floor space.

Scored it used on ebay for $150 I think.  (after all the searching I have not actually used it yet....)

Why did you need a winch?  How heavy is the fukin thing?   

It weighs a friggin tonne!  So mounted the winch up high at about 2.4m (to a stud be hind the plywood) and then press up button and she pulls her up the wall a piece of cake.  I then lower it an inch or so, so that the weight sits on the floor and not on the cable.

A ha !  Now I get it.  I  have a sore neck  but cos your photo is upside down or something.
