Pubs south west of Rockhampton

    Couple of us planning a reverse long weekend! Friday to Sunday. Rang the Cracow pub this afternoon. Their not sure when they will reopen! Any suggestions for an overnight stay between Rockhampton and Kingaroy for our second leg? Thinking Eidsvold, Mundubbera or Gayndah? Any comments appreciated! Cheers Stevo

    Try the Mungungo hotel , Real name WARATAH HOTEL ( google it) just out of monto on the monto to calliope road, an old bush pub owned by my brother in laws, both of them are bikers.
     if you take the road from calliope there are a couple of other old pubs on the way. Sort of follows the old boyne valley railway, there,s a bit of dirt,  maybe 20km last I saw.( some time back now) rideable in good conditions.
    The pub in Biggenden was open a couple of weeks ago when we rode there.
    Awhile back we planned a ride  to Mundubbera and the pub was not open on sundays. We asked them if they would open for a group of bikes and they said ok we'll put on roast lunch. when we got there all the locals were there too. Nice lunch had by all.  Dont know about accomodation.

    Camped behind the Mungungo hotel about 5 years ago. Was a great night,

    Thanks fellas, Looking at the Orange Motel at Gayndah? Would like to confirm that the road from Cracow to Eidsvold is full tarmac??
