    G,day all,
I,ve got a bit of a problem and want to run it past forum members to see what they recon.
Bought a road glide a few years ago and decided to tow a trailer which has been fitted out as a camper, so all has been good until on a ride with a few mates they noticed that my indicators stopped working properly, still had parkers and stop lights but no blinkers, up until this happened they were working for years, I thought probably a broken wire so started searching, then it dawned on me that when you turned off the bike the alarm sounds and the blinkers flash so what the fuck could it be I thought, when I put the tow bar I bought a trailer wiring loom with the load being put on the battery and not the bikes wiring, got me stumped, I've followed all the wiring and it looks ok, trouble is I sit down with a carton and end up shit faced and pissed off, can anyone give me a bit of advice on what to check next, probably with a couple of 6 packs instead of a carton.
    Cheers Ballsy

    Ballsy,

I did a job on a mates Fatboy a while back, it's about the same age as your bike.  Worth a look under the rear guard. The wiring loom to the tail lights & indicators is double sided taped to the underside of the guard. Over time his wiring sagged and intermittently touched the tire, particularly two up. The insulation wore down & eventually he had shorts between the wiring which caused intermittent electrical faults. Ultimately he got run up the arse by a mate who didn't see the brake light come on as they approached an intersection.

Might be worth checking the trailer loom too. It might have rubbed or taken a nick during installation.

Pull the plugs to the rear electrics & give 'em a squirt of CRC or something similar while you're there.

My bet is it's something simple. Good luck.

Oh, and drink beer After the job's finished. ;-)

Maybe you have a mix of LED"S and bulbs???? Like bulbs on trailer and leds on bike ?? you might need a different relay ,or all led's, or fit a load inline with led's. Just guessing  without all information.
