You’re average dumbass knows we should boycott China, but how?
Far to many products don’t reveal their country of origin, only the old words like Packed in Australia from imported ingredients, or maybe can include imported ingredients etc.
I reckon boycotting China buy not sending them our products, yeah. Stop sending them our Tuna, Lamb, Oysters, Crayfish, Baby Formula, Wine etc, send them a messsge it’s not acceptable and here are home push big time the affect of buying Australia.
Read the labels guys and gals, buying Australian means a lot these days.

Dick Smith has been trying to do it for years but most people dont give a fuck until it impacts them directly.
We all need to stop buying the cheapest  stuff in the shop and spend a little bit more for quality manufactured Aussie made stuff.
I am as guilty as the next man but I will make a bigger effort to buy Aussie in the future.
Maybe the government should push this concept a bit harder.

Sorry but we have have gone well and truly beyond that already and sadly cant turn back. If you think Australia is currently doing it tough just think for a moment how the loss of 33% of our export market would impact our economy. The next 5 biggest markets we trade with COMBINED only just cover that loss and not any of those buy, at the same volumes. the biggest export we have, iron ore.
The world markets are just that and at this period in our lives the buyers hold the sellers by the balls. My tip..tell your grand kids to learn Chinese.

I agree , the government needs to step in here.
No good exporting all our raw materials and then buying them back as manufactured items.
One example would be solar panels. to make a solar panel requires , aluminium, silicon, copper, lead, petro chemicals to make the plastic bits and dope the silicon chips . Therefore we need mines, smelters, manufacturing plants to form the metals, chemical plants, power generation for smelting. If you want to go into batteries you need lead, carbon, ,antimony, coal to make petro chemicals, lithium, acids ,alkalis ,plastic cases, copper etc.
All of this stuff is available in Australia and we could make all of it here. We wouldn't have to buy it from overseas.
Employing millions of tax paying workers to achieve this and it will rebuild the economy, reinvigorate remote towns and businesses.
An electric car / bike, requires all the above stuff and costs more to manufacture , also requires lubrication, tyres, etc like any other car, and cannot go far.
In fact its total effect  on the climate is probably worse than refining fuel from oil rigs. (taking the whole process into account fro mining to manufacture, and including the emissions at each process)
We seem to have let the greenies fuck everything with their kill coal, and electric car bullshit . If they are serious about the environment the processes need to be cleaned up a little bit at each point of the total process and manufacture. Not killed.
Dont get me started on wind turbines. Australian cars, furniture clothes, submarines, guns ammo etc ( hope we dont have a war, we dont make any of our own ships planes  @@#$%$#@)
End of rant, I'm, goin to get a beer. ( Great Northern is giving BCF vouchers)

Soory this was the footy thread .

The iron ore exports are not a never ending golden goose. Inevitably our biggest customer will stop buying it.

unfortunately, the biggest customer will lose it supply as it is not renewable, we will run out before they wont need it
my company has known reserves in current mines to 2030, with good samples coming in from exploration

Mick Malthouse can make the stand, his life through football and likely commentary, wont effect nothing from China to him, a ban on Chinese direct wont stop the "contains Chinese components" stuff he would buy, and with the arrogance, not know where its parts are made still buy manufactured in Australia.

Wrong answer mate.  WIth an attitude like that  you are part of the problem,  not the solution.
Iron ore is selling for $85  a ton and coal is selling for roughly $125  per tonne and the chinese are undoubtedly the biggest importer of our commodities but we will be seeing a change in the balance before too long..
All it will take is a bit of effort on our behalf.
And when the war starts we will make the effort.
