I bought this one to replace my current stock shock, which are 13".
I don't see this has any improvement over the stock of course not getting worse. It's purely for the look. And it looks much better now.

I don't think I can go lower without doing something on the kickstand. If I went with 11" with the stock stand, I am sure it will be blown down by the wind.

But for the looking department, 12" and 11.5" should be the best for Sportster in my opinion.

I have Dyna Fatbob's rear wheel and 170mm tyre on the back. It almost touches the fender after the shocks lowered. Definitely can't go 180mm. 170mm is the best you can get on Sportster.

You need to take out all the plastic inner guard, or trim it down, then should be able to fit a 200 in there on a dyna rim.

shorter rear shocks, ok if you only ride in the city & short distance. but not as safe & slows the steering. but I've used short shocks myself over the years & learnt.
I have one inch longer , but for the drags, strut or shorter would be better but only at the track. if you had struts made up you could go lower as, there will be no movement up & down at the rear, always stays same . bit hard on bumps!!
