Seriously folks. Do you reckon this hillbilly knee jerk rhetoric is helping.

Quoting Ratbob on 14 Dec 2020 05:03 AM

Yeah, I think it’s helpful Steelo, venting’s always a healthy pastime, if only for the one who’s venting 😎, gotta support our fellow members even when they’re raving nutters.

Venting can be helpful. As the saying goes -
    a problem shared is.......another person's day ruined.

Krash its to late....they rule the world and mostly own it as well. Doing like what your suggesting is like removing a single grain of sand from the desert and believing we are reducing the size. As for complaining to every shop selling Chinese goods....that would be close to EVERY shop in Australia. The Chinese may not manufacture a particular product but either the packaging or components come from China

    What a fukin pathetic post.

Even the arse licking shit bag  politicians have more balls than you PB.
    Fukin disgraceful

Hm, PB treads heavy but speaks the truth, maybe

“you can’t handle the truth” 😎
We as collective Australians have listened too hard and too long to the lefties, “you can’t stop the Chinese from buying Australia, that’s racist” and yet we can’t buy an inch of China. They own more of the planet than I’m comfortable with and there’s zip we can do about it. However, if our Govt wanted, they could legislate to stop selling Australia, personally I’d block all foreign ownership.

So the  Chinese  own  more  of this planet than you  are comfortable with but you  reckon  there is nothing  we can  do about it?
Well  mate you are wrong there. There is a lot you can do about it.
DONT BUY CHINESE CRAP is  one  thing we can  all do. I have  been  on a serious  DON'T BUY CHINESE  CRAP campaign for  a  few  months now and I will  admit it can be difficult  but it is not impossible.    The  Federal government  is passing laws to control the  possible influence of the  Chinese Communist Party.  A bit  late  maybe  but at least it is happening. Looks like  the " belt and roads " deal  that chairman  Dan signed with the CCP is going to be scrutinised.

Bless you beagle. So you’ve been on this anti buy Chinese crap campaign for how long?  A couple months?  Good on you.

And the games continue.....China has banned all Aust coal imports immediately

It means imports of Australian coal will be blocked indefinitely while China ramps up imports from Mongolia, Indonesia and Russia, and expands local production
Australia supplied 60% of China’s annual quota of around 300 million tonnes – up to the second half of this year and coal industry sources say Mongolia, Russia, the US and Indonesia will not be able to fill the gap immediately. These countries have already had trouble supply coal – coking for the steel industry and thermal coal for the power and cement industries – sending the price of thermal coal in particular to a 50% premium for the Australian coal, and a massive premium for coking coal as well, placing further pressure on already whingeing steel companies paying multi-year high prices for iron ore
Some 80 ships remain off the Chinese coast loaded with Australian coal and can’t unload. No ships have sailed for China from Newcastle or Queensland for the best part of a month.

It’s sad but unfortunately none of your proposed solutions will change what the Chinese already own.
We all own lots of Chinese products and there’s nothing we can do about it because much of it is within products made elsewhere.
Own a mobile phone or computer, even my German fridge has Chinese components. Probably 70% of most Aust households content comes from China. Crockery, cutlery, glasses, potato peeler, TV, furniture, toys, bikes, it’s endless.
Bit of a shock a few years back when we chose a new Tasmanian Blackwood dining suite. Asked if it was all from Tasmania, guaranteed yes. We’ve always been pro Aussie products. Took ages to arrive, finally told there was a delay with shipping from China. Turns out yes it was all from Tasmania, genuine Tasmanian Blackwood, but shipped to China where they made the furniture. Faarrkk!
I sold my older Krell amp (made in USA) Went to get a new one only to find they are now made in China, so now I’m searching, looks like Luxman is the go. Now I’m looking for a new Bluetooth speaker what chance do you reckon I have getting something not Chinese, thinking I might just go without.
Pretty much every child’s Christmas present this year will be made in China, maybe they too should go without.

Yep we sell our raw materials/ commodities to China who make something from it and ship it back to us at a profit. We will never be able to compete with them with any manufacturing due to the wages disparity unless the government subsidize the work force.....and  lets remember how Holden, Ford, Toyota etc experiment went for the country last time.
