    Hi
I'm chasing a black front master cylinder for a 2003 Fatboy - anyone got one? .

The paint on mine has blistered off due to a brake fluid leak

    many thanks

Hi Kato. Save your cash. Had minor corrosion on my 2003 Deuce BMS. Used some wet and dry on mine to clean it up, masked up and repainted in situ. Looks good as new (weeeell)

Sounds good . Ive only got 2 small spots where the paint has bubbled off . Excuse my ignorance but i haven't painted much things

    - did you wet n dry the entire master cylinder or just rubbed back the offending area and painted that section ??

    - do need a primer and a top coat

    - what brand of paint did you use to paint the M Cylinder (like is it HD specific )

cheers in advance ( you could have saved me $220-00 plus fitting to get the same result )

Hi Kato. Just bought a rattle can of similar matt or semi gloss black paint. I actually think I might have used some plastikote upholstery paint (has that plastic finish)
Really went to town on the corroded areas with the W & D and lightly sanded the other areas to provide a good surface (you might like to even consider lightly sanding and painting the clutch side as well.)
Then masked up all the cables, good unblemished areas and cut out little tabs for the switch faces, wrapped the bolt heads. Covered the whole bike with plastic and an old bed sheet and gave a couple very light coats over the course of an hour or so. Allowed to dry overnight and removed the masking. You can see some areas are a little shinier than others but no one notices (or they're too polite to say)
Honestly, it looked great for ages but probably needs a touch up with a fine brush (easy enough to do spraying paint into a bit of tin foil and dabbing the brush.
It's a 2003 bike. Couldn't justify the expense, time to bleed and refill fluids, was a bit of interest and gave some satisfaction. I didn't and don't lose any sleep over it now. If it doesn't pan out, you've always got replacement as an option. Post some pics.
