Running a narrow beach bar with internal wiring on mu 2011 FXDC. Wires just too short to be routed through the triple tree so running under it. Don't like the look of that so want to extend the wires. Any advice on best way of doing that?? I was thinking getting some wire and heat shrink, cut the wires and solder extensions in them and cover with heat shrink.
    workable?? Better ideas??

    thnx

Search eBay as there are kit there for about $30-50 that are complete extension kits for your model (well there are for Sporters).
Way easier than winging it as they come with connectors so no need to cut cables. (mine even had a color coded instruction)
Easy job to do in a day

I do quite a few for various lads and that's the way I do them. It maintains colour code at both ends and also keeps the quality OEM connectors. Gotta be done smoothly and staggered.
I've taken a few non-OEM cable kits out because of connector issues.
