Nah , just get rid of the stupid things altogether. I could never figure out how those stupid looking things cyclists stick on their head got approved. Those things would do nothing in a prang. It only covers top of head above the ears.
I would rather land on my head with a helmet than without one regardless of its on a pushie or a motorbike.
I know lots of young people that stopped riding pushbikes after the helmet law came in, safer or no they just wasn't going to wear them, in all my years from a lad to now I have not personally known anyone that hurt their head on a pushy, lost count of the fuckers that have died in car wrecks though, I can understand road racing and the downhill brigade's need for them but for running around the burbs it's just a pain in the arse.
I still think them things are useless, so alternatively make the bicycle helmet laws the same as motorcycles.
They're surprisingly effective as long as you don't land on your face, a lot of development goes into making them safe, light and cool. They're certainly not much worse (if any at all) than the standard flat black Harley rider open face.
In that case they should be legal for riding harleys??????
I know what helmet i will be wearing now
What laws are different, you ride a bike or motorbike you have to wear a helmet.
Under current Queensland laws, you must wear an Australian Standard (AS) approved bicycle helmet when you ride a bike. The helmet must be securely fitted and fastened. ... However, if they are a paying passenger on a 3 or 4 wheeled bicycle, they do not have to wear a helmet.
So your advocating a universal standard? If so is it the bike std or the motorbike std.
Motorbike. I reckon.
