Hey guys. Seeking opinions on the best sound on an 883 Sporty (carby), idling and riding.
Who prefers the 2 into 1, or the 2 into 2 sound (and appearance)?

2-1 for performance with good sound
2-2 for better sound but at the expense of a 'very little' bit of performance

The decision is TOTALLY subjective and varies from rider to rider.  Me; I'm a 2-2 guy on all my bikes except for rice burner racers.

    Thanks Tussuk.
Some say the bigger engines sound better as 2-1.

Well I used to run 2 into 1 , then went 2-2, at the time I was also drag racing my Harley & riding it to the track's I raced at. I thought the 2into 1 gave more HP but after changing from 2 into 1 to 2-2 I went 5 tenth's of a second quicker and 12mph faster in trap speed. I have never gone back to 2 into 1. also at the time I was using a Dynojet 250i for tuning , & on the dyne the 2into 1 made more Torque at lower rev's , but at 3,500 rev + the 2-2 went away and made more TQ above 3,500 and carried TQ to higher rev. well for the street if your mostly at lower rev's plus being an 883 could make it feel stronger using 2 into 1 with a bit more TQ down low. I like the look of 2-2 I like the sound of 2-2 so I'll stick with 2-2 myself. depends on what you like. also I thought I'd note if you take the silencing out the muffler on 2 into 1 you can make good HP just too loud for the street. supertrap you can tune them & keep them quite, but personally I had no luck with them making good power quietly . they made less HP quite  but when louder made more HP.
it's your bike so go with what you like personally!!If you reed between the lines, you get the idea, I'm not worried about sound, I get more excitement getting thrust forward when I twist the throttle open. I also like the truth.

OK that’s interesting re the speed/power.
Being a small engine capacity I guess the lower end power is more desirable.

Thanks Postie. I looked for Grenades but none fit this 05 bike. Might get the Cobras.
And with stock pipes the loudest thing is your engine.

    Thanks Postie.
I found some Rush ones on eBay that aren’t too expensive either.

Melbourne's Harley Heaven is doing a promotion on VH's 2-1 blackout sporty pipe, $250 cheaper than listed price. In case anyone is interested.
