Thought I'd share my second major ride of 2019 to Cairns via Roma, Emerald, Charters Towers etc. Left Brissy at sunrise took the new Toowoomba bypass, nice bit of road! Always stop at the BP west of TWMBA toward Oakey for fuel and a Brekky roll! Continued west via Dalby, Chinchilla to Roma for fuel coffee and a bunger! Then north to Injune for fuel to Rolleston [nice bit of road, and finally a little green, the Carnarvon had some rain the week prior]. Having had an argument with the Indian fuel operator at Rolleston, was west again to Springsure then off to Emerald by 4:00pm...not a bad 900klm day! Off the next morning coffe stop first, jacket over the back of the bike...you can see the fourm patch! via Cleremont to Charters Towers, there's one fuel stop at Belyando which I was literally counting down the metres with a puckered ass in 40 degree heat!...had 1.2 litres in the tank when I fueled up! Off to C'Towers then bypassed Townsville, fueled up at Ingham...and stayed at a Hotel/ Motel at Forrest Beach 20k's east of Ingham [right on the beach]...fantastic place! Suffice to say....my first beer and wine since August...lol..if your up that way....gotta stay there! Coffee the next morning at Cardwell as I headed toward Cairns!

Mate fucked if I know, just sat there having a few beers till I ordered dinner! Jokes aside, looked as if there was stinger netting set up on the beach 150m north of where I was!

Enjoyed reading that and see the pics - all familiar roads from a ways back. Used to enjoy a feed at the Forrest Beach hotel too, back in the day when we didn’t feel like free goat at Mingela!
